  1. The #s I had seen in the past had Rutgers with 20% support in the NYC fanbase. That should be plenty.
  2. Wait, before this, PSU and Illinois were the only teams in the Leaders division? Why are you mentioning PSU? We still wouldn't have won the division under those circumstances. ETA: I'm guessing it was mentioned because PSU is expected to be a "natural" rival to the east coast schools.
  3. But that's the heart of my question. Is it just bc UM fans in NYC can't see UM games on the btn and they're going to tune in for the UM v App St rematch that isn't available to them on any of the channels that carries cfb on Saturday? Do they need a "local" team in order to get the btn into TV package? If that's the case, I see it from a financial perspective. I still don't like it overall. It's that UM fans alone (or UM and PSU fans together) aren't enough to get the cable companies to add BTN. Add in Rutgers and you have a fighting chance at saturation. This was always one of the most important points in favor of ND, was getting into the NYC market. Rutgers doesn't need to have a dominant share of the NYC fanbase, it just needs to make enough of a further dent to force the cable companies' hands.
  4. It's not Rutgers = NY/NJ market or Maryland = DC market. It's Rutgers + PSU + UM = NY/NJ market and Maryland + every other midwest transplant = DC. I'm not...thrilled with the additions, but I can see the logic, and trust Uncle Jim.
  5. It's basketball, but OSU plays in Value City Arena, and Louisville plays in the Yum! Center.
  6. I've also heard rumors that they're considering experimenting with Cabrera as a starter again, an idea I like very much. We have no shortage of young, hard throwing, right handed middle relief options: Dolis, Hatley, Putnam, Guttierez, Bowden, Chapman, Brigham, Jackson, Mateo, Harris. We have a shortage of any of them being any good.
  7. I already knew you were a bad person Treebeard.
  8. If ND wins next week and you root for the SEC team vs them you are a bad person.
  9. from what i've heard. it's down to Illinois and Ohio State. Meaning what you've read on twitter? Jesus, you don't even have the right 2 teams. guess i didn't. SeldomSeen nailed Gary Harris to IU, so give him a break.
  10. So it doesn't concern any of you that Rick Porcello sucks?
  11. Go Trojans. (Vomits)
  12. To a province that doesn't allow you to have your pet bulldog
  13. How in the hell is Gotfried recruiting like this? For Anya, NC State was literally the only team still recruiting him. Indiana dropped out a couple weeks ago, so he didn't really have a choice unless he waited for other teams to recruit him. Why do you think those teams stopped recruiting him? We know IU didn't stop due to scholarship limits.
  14. They were down twelve in the second half and came back to win the game. Are the announcers supposed to sound bored? Well they are in Kansas.
  15. And I think you have to be looking for reasons not to complain to say there's nothing wrong with paying that much for a completely, utterly fungible, replacement-level player. The extra $1 million will not hold them back from doing anything they want to do in the future. It won't keep them from signing any major league player or an amateur guy. Complaining about this price tag is looking for something to complain about. If you want to complain about the player, fine, but his cost will affect zero moves in the future. It is not your worry. It's not the point of, "oh no we're out of money, blew it on Navarro." It's "Nah, that guy's not worth that much, they're spending like drunken sailors I tells ya!!, OOOOH backup catcher, now he's worth 1.75M
  16. I'm with Dexter and TT. It may not be surprising that I thought he was letting Loria off easy, but it really had the tone to me of "You gotta hand it to him"
  17. This is also hilarious: Indiana has 16 commits for next season. Serious question on that, I understood the Big Ten rule to be you could only oversign by 1?
  18. Too much, the franchise hates him and his value is the lowest it's been since coming to the majors after his performance last season.
  19. Yes, but I hear Davis and Hartman are starting to have issues in the classroom.
  20. Dream on You don't think you'll get him? No Jordan Hulls is going to pay for 4 of our scholarship players to walk on.
  21. I don't think hiring Nerlens Noel's dad midseason is going to make much of a difference.
