  1. Sure, that's true, but he hasn't been able to make any real money. All the money they are making has either gone towards paying off the debt, building their baseball academy, or the renovations. They are putting it all back into the team, and since they have a lot of other things they are dealing with it means less goes towards the major league payroll. They better plan on building a dome and a solid gold statue of Ken Hubbs if the payroll in 2019 is going to be 145M
  2. Or he was just trying to make the point that the team on the field wasn't really reflective of what the payroll number was. The transcript misinterpreted what they were saying. The artificially high comment was in regards to the payroll in 2008ish (140 million+) was artificially and unsustainably high. I had a one on one with Ricketts myself and he said the same thing, there isn't much to debate about it. The team isn't going to have a payroll high than the 125-130 range WHILE they are competing until they get the TV deal and even then with the TV deal it wouldn't get much higher than 145. That's the plan so we should just get used to it. Then Ricketts is robbing the team blind McCourt style. Has to do with the debt and renovations, he isn't making much money at this point. He's probably made ~500M on franchise value alone.

  4. I'd be overjoyed with a 125M payroll this year. It'd mean we were actually trying.
  5. Maybe we should try to give ourselves an outside chance at 90 wins.
  6. The coverage is fine, and the announcers are the best the NFL has. I just don't care.
  7. Has anyone anywhere ever complained that forfeiting 3 seasons is boring? I think the issue is people think it's stupid and unnecessary.
  8. I have no idea what that means, but [expletive] this [expletive] is depressing.
  9. Must've been an inside the parker
  10. The Celtics are far and away better, but they don't care about the regular season.
  11. Jeremy Guthrie, seriously? [expletive] everything
  12. Kevin Love won't be a Bull until he's old and bad.
  13. I wonder if the Cubs were requiring the Angels pay more of Santana's salary than what the Royals were? Then the Cubs are idiots if they think the Angels were going to pay more than they were required to pay Santana
  14. Don't you people watch Thursday night NFL?
  15. It'll be an even better better place when people stop trying to inject that into every conversation. It's not hurting you, leave me alone. You can't take on this persona you do and then play the victim and PM people asking why they don't like you. SANCTITY OF PMs
  16. Look on the bright side, maybe it means Gary Harris is staying an extra season.
  17. More than Hinrich? I mean, if it were Robinson vs. Rose, it's another story, but he's not exactly got to hit a very high bar to be the most valuable PG on the roster right now. Just wait.
  18. Devan Dumes It's been awhile, honestly, what are we talking about here? The sucker punches were obviously not good, but I'm forgetting any academic issues. (I spoke to him when he was in high school and he seemed bright enough, for what that's worth.) I was mostly remembering his play and the fact that he was a JUCO.
  19. Best Interest of Baseball Clause would come flying.
  20. I bet you all loathe Nate Robinson after ~12 games.
  21. Like 30 seconds after the last out. He's also a deplorable human being and a media suck up politician [expletive]
  22. The saddest part about it is a Capobianco gets told to leave, and he loses a year due to "transferring"
