There aren't any advantages any more. I mean, yeah, you can still way overpay for guys when they become FA, but it's hard to get good players when you can't pick high and you can't overpay for amateurs. Unless those amateurs are the multiple non-IFA budget guys we've finished in distant 2nd for.

Red Sox had a 10-game losing streak, but they aren't in last because now Tampa Bay is on a 10-game loser of their own. Yankees and Dodgers are both a game over .500.
