  1. Brett's not that bad, he just aims for broad appeal and is a bit of an apologist. I pretty much don't read Parks anymore. Brett is dying to come up with a thing. The stupid Hulk stuff for Schwarber and the painfully unfunny #FireTheo
  2. That day will come soon for the Cubs, too. You've got some insider info about the Ricketts mercifully selling the team? Tim's just excited for that sweet MeTV money we'll pick up next year
  3. Junior Lake has a 913 OPS as a LF, a 257 OPS otherwise.
  4. Theo just said yesterday he'll be catching once a week the rest of the year
  5. Me either, although I can't help but think how awesome it would be next year to see Baez, Bryant, and Alcantara all come up together in a symbolic transition to the next phase of the plan. Symbolism is t really worth much to me, unless it forces the trib and Muskat to stop writing core four. But it'd probably further encourage Brett to capitalize THE PLAN
  6. When he hits the ball, he tends to hit it really hard. Contact is the problem. Combination of being too passive early in the count and too aggressive deep in the count, and bad pitch recognition (IMO). It doesn't look promising. That's not even true. He has an anemic LD%. If you got bonus points for far HRs he might have value as a 25th guy
  7. Uh you? Uhhh no. Almora has a .590 OPS. If anyone were scouting only the slash line, they wouldn't ask "is he out of the top 50." They'd say he wasn't a prospect at all. "herr derr, you only scout the slash line" is idiotic baseball hipsterism at its worst. What a joke of a response. You asked me to name ONE. So I did. Guess who else? The rest of us. Why? Because there's not a single scout(other than UK) here. It's all we're [expletive] capable of, to be quite honest. The difference though, is some of us actually LISTEN to what guys who ARE qualified have to say. And dont make [expletive] asinine comments about Almora being Darwin Barney(latest in a very long, hyperbolic line) But there's nothing wrong with saying parks may be full of [expletive] especially since if this was the end if the seasons the doofus would probably have him well out of the top 50
  8. #oddhumblebrag Playing schwarber at catcher once a week just seems like a waste. Don't even bother
  9. He needs a cagey vet like Mark Grace to show him the ropes
  10. I think Santana will be given a pretty long leash, they do have David Hale in their pen as well who did fine early in the year as a starter. I'm just not sure starter will be their first priority and they continue to have a limited budget
  11. They can just put Alex Wood back in the rotation. ETA looks like they were already preparing to do that before this happened. He's in AAA and made a couple starts
  12. Nobody's watching, at all? These idiots just don't understand how fun this is.
  13. How in the hell do you go 86-0 at gin rummy?
  14. Well he has an army of sycophants In His comments section who about at anyone who disagrees with him. He really does think he's smarter than you.
  15. I think I'd rather read articles from old baseball fogey writers than Cameron.
  16. He'll almost certainly get more dollars total assuming he doesn't contract typhoid
  17. I get that and generally agree with your more reasoned statement. What I'm taking exception to are the flat statements made above that he absolutely will not resign with the team because we have not tried hard enough or something. Because that's a thing that's happened?
  18. no it's like when staff ace Jake Arrieta stepped right immediately step(?) into Scott Feldmans slot But he went to the minors first
  19. They still have lots of other things too. Mostly awful things
  20. I wonder where Kris Bryant would be right now
  21. Next thing you know its about derek jeters Gatorade deal Hahahahahahaha I just got this
  22. I don't blame them for not wanting to go higher and I don't blame him for rejecting it. I agree, I think ~$18 mil AAV is very fair and I don't think he will get much more than that on the open market. Though he could get an extra year or two and higher overall total. I'm sure he could get a NTC on the open market and he's probably really sick of the cubs franchise
  23. I didn't know pitchcs had a twitter
