Kind of sounds like we're offering Homer Bailey money and Shark wants a bit more than Matt Cain money. I see nothing leading me to believe we're offering Bailey money. The previous offer was an embarrassing 5/60 and you think we raised it by 30M?

    Nope. Stanton will be making 25 mill a year in 3 seasons. We've got Castro for 5/43 and an option after this year. I love Stanton, but we've got plenty of options other than Starlin to trade for him. Mojo was probably making the fair assumption that we need to dump salary to fit Stanton into our budget.

    There aren't any advantages any more. I mean, yeah, you can still way overpay for guys when they become FA, but it's hard to get good players when you can't pick high and you can't overpay for amateurs. Unless those amateurs are the multiple non-IFA budget guys we've finished in distant 2nd for.
