    I cant remember the last good pitcher to stick with one team. It seems even less likely to happen with the arm injuries now and the fear of long pitching deals. I guess Mariano did it but I cant think of a SP. Glavine. Also Verlander so far. Glavine went to the Mets for 3-4 years

    This year it is finally working after two years of [expletive] and those guys only getting older. And they have how much money and years tied up in Hamilton (33) and Pujols (34)? Sidenote: I hadn't realized Pujols had picked it back up. Guess it makes sense given how hot they've been. I knew he had started off pretty well and then had tailed back off. 89 win seasons now [expletive]. Regardless, they haven't made the playoffs since 2009, are no better positioned to win in the near future than the Cubs are, and far less better positioned in the mid-long term than the Cubs are, almost regardless of the financials. They are certainly much better right now, but that's about it. I'd say the odds of that being the case two years from now are fairly slim. You wouldn't trade positions, and you know it. THE NEAR FUTURE?? FOR FUCKS SAKE What the hell is 2014 and 2015?

    They have Weaver/Richards/Skaggs/Wilson through 2016. They have the best offense in baseball, and it's not just Trout. Freese is their only starter with a wRc+ below 100. Their big money guys (Pujols/Hamilton/Wilson) are the only ones you could consider "old" (33/34/33)

    I know that we've all been conditioned to not care about what major league teams do, but they have a much better [expletive] major league team. And they have that four-leaf clover generated Mike Trout And can carry a payroll above $8.54 this decade

Hey, maybe it'll pay off for them this year, but most likely no. Thank god for them that they lucked into the best player ever at the 25th pick five years ago, but they are not a well managed organization. GTFO. I've only read about it from the posts in this thread, but they make it sound like it was unwittingly throwing him under the bus vs. Amaro reporting their unsigned guys to the NCAA. Is this a purposeful ratting out?

    Kevin Tapani is like 50 years old. 5 of him would not make a very good rotation. not when you divide him into 5 Gruesome. You can tell he was alive up until the point he was divided in 5.

    I'm far from convinced Shark would have been given a rotation spot by the previous regime. Them doing it with Dempster when he wasn't even their prized possession makes me think they would have.

    Eh? Is this just the theory somebody came up with that just because they said they'd have drafted Appel, it doesn't mean they would because it's some bizarre smokescreen for drafts down the road?

    If anyone said drafting in the top 5 is idiot proof, it hasn't happened often. I've seen "If the FO is so good, we shouldn't have to draft in the top 5 to get a good farm system" which is far from the same thing.
