  1. The worst part about this is it probably convinces the idiots in charge that Koyie needs to catch Z the rest of the way. Z sucks tonight.
  2. Jones's arm isn't that weak Junior. Seriously though WTF Z?
  3. It's their 25th anniversary. The White Sox honored the South Side Hitmen a while back and they didn't even make the playoffs. The '69 team is honored endlessly by us. By us as in fans. We haven't done anything officially with them have we? I wouldn't be shocked if something was done for them in '94 or '89. I don't remember though.
  4. Obviously it doesn't affect anything, but I'm rooting for the Cards to sweep. Worry about the team in front of you that you only play 3 times the rest of the year, not the team behind you that you get 7 games with.

  6. By the time Soriano comes back, rosters will have expanded. I would hope that Fox stays up here for the rest of the season. No use in wasting two of his options in one year, especially when September is right around the corner. you can't use up options during a year. once he's called up, he's used up his option and can be sent up and down freely. the option rules should be stickied at the top of this board because this comes up every time someone is called up. The option isn't used from being called up, it's used from being sent down. For all players who start the season the 40 man but do not break camp with the 25 man/60 day DL, they use up the option before the season started. For guys added to the 40 man in season, they have to be sent down first before using an option. If Pigs lasts the season on the 25 man until rosters expand then he will still have all options in tact at the end of the year. (not that it's a great concern with Pigs.)
  7. Same here. With the best seats I'll ever have in my life. Me too. I signed up for some Mastercard Dream Days promotion and I guess got selected. I will be on the field and in the dugout before BP, get to sit in club box seats for BP as well. Not sure where the game seats are. I guess that trumps my club box seats. Jerk.

  9. What's the point in posting this? Seriously, why even bother if this is all you're going to say? It's Gallagher's dad.
  10. Its a little early in his career as a hitter to be saying that. Ankiel is homerun or nothing. He doesnt take walks at all. There have been plenty of guys to come up, and look like world beaters at first, only to have the league figure him out rather quickly, i.e. Mike Fontenot, Bo Hart, etc... Chris Shelton, Jack Cust.... Cust is still hitting.
  11. Is it even possible to cut payroll without trading off players?
  12. Jenks is still dirt cheap as well. You'd need an incredible return to justify trading him.
  13. You want Murton to play center  :?: Yeah I also want him to bat in 2 batting order positions in the same game. In fairness, that was pretty confusing. I assume you mean JJ in CF and Murton in RF or Pie in CF and Murton in RF. So you'd have Murton play every day, but JJ and Pie platoon in CF? Odd. Or Jones in RF and Pie in CF. Playing the matchups, as far as when you want your best defense(Pie/Jones), best offense (Jones/Murton), vs. a lefty(Pie/Murton)
  14. You want Murton to play center  :?: Yeah I also want him to bat in 2 batting order positions in the same game.
  15. Never bet on the Cubs, Yankees, or Notre Dame, they're always overfavored.
  16. Theriot Lee Soriano Ramirez Jones/Murton DeRosa Pie/Murton Kendall
  17. Anyone know Soto's eye color and favorite Saturday morning cartoon from 1986-1989?
  18. Adduci is definitely organizational filler, sad to say. I played with him when I was younger, and both him and his dad were good people, but there's really no reason to waste ABs on him that can go to more projectable talent.
  19. He's a fat jagoff. F him.
  20. Rest of the season 3 vs. CIN (3-0) 4 vs. STL (2-2) 3 @ SF (2-1) 3 @ AZ(1-2) 3 vs. MIL(2-1) 3 vs. HOU(2-1) 4 vs. LA(1-3) 3 @ PIT(3-0) 3 @ HOU(2-1) 4 @ STL(1 DH) (1-3) 3 vs. CIN (3-0) 3 vs. PIT 2-1) 3 @ FLA (1-2) 3 @ CIN (1-2) 26-19 finish putting them at 86-76. Probably enough to fend off the Cards, not so sure about the Brewers.
  21. Hmm... What would the media play up more if the Cardinals moved into first place: Rick Ankiel's comeback or the Cardinal players doing it in the memory of Josh Hancock? I'll go with the latter. Winning it for Hancock and Spiezio after he relapses and ODs.
  22. weren't the cubs the organization that almost brought Will Ohman to an arbitration hearing a few year back over a really small amount...like 20K?
