  1. Pretty much any pitcher can be on it. I'm not positive how Pagan's situation affects the position player aspect.
  2. ND football, U of I football, and Cubs baseball. Gonna be a fun 4 hours of sports tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be a fun night of drinking tomorrow night, not a drowning my sorrows in self pity night.
  3. Nate Longshore ftw. Derwood, I counted 10 I-AA for SEC, 6 for Big Ten And you missed South Florida as a BCS team. Big East? Don't quite know if you're questioning whether the Big East is worthy of a BCS bid(You included West VA), but yes USF is in the Big East.
  4. FTR, Scott Moore was only 23 in AAA, certainly not old for his level. I couldn't care less about dumping Cherry, but trading away Moore stings.
  5. The Cardinals disagree. Then the Cardinals are dopes, cause the Brewers are way better than them. You've asserted both that the Brewers are the toughest competition and that the Brewers are way better than the Cardinals. I agree that the Brewers are way better, but the same anomaly that would transfer the 1984 Tigers into a 65-win team if they were Cubs that year is working against the Brewers and in favor of the Cardinals, so despite talent, runs, or any other logical measure, the Cardinals will still prove to be the toughest competition in the division. Jayson Stark was right, unfortunately. I really have no clue what you're talking about. You agree that the Brewers are way better than the Cardinals but for some reason believe in some mystical force that is going to force the Cardinals to win the division. There's no magic involved at baseball, the Cardinals have just been a well run franchise for many years. Right now (for this season) they have been a poorly run franchise and should have no chance at the postseason because they are a bad team. The Cubs and Brewers are not excellent teams, but they are above average, something the Cardinals cannot claim.

  8. What TT said, just because he ranks in between 61-90 doesn't make him a #3. It's disingenuous to not point out that there aren't anywhere close to 150 qualified starters. But, as long as he doesn't replace Marshall in the rotation I'll be ok with this. But after today, I'm kinda afraid of that.
  9. So you want Dempster going 2 innings last night in a tie game and Marmol coming in to face the 9-1-2 hitters with a 2 run lead?
  10. I believe right now the staff is only 11. And Lilly threw 107.
  11. I've never understood that. Why tell a pitcher to throw at full strength just to throw the ball OUT of the strikezone? Especially, when the result is extremely likely to have the same result. Hitters know when they are being pitched around. I don't think it's as reasonable as you think that he swings at a bad ball he knows is coming. Better off just having the pitcher throw 4 warmup tosses to the catcher and putting him on intentionally. You are counting on way too many things to happen with a pitch around. Counting on a bad defensive catcher blocking pitches in the dirt. Counting on that if Fielder swings at 1 bad pitch he hits it directly to a fielder that can record and out. Or counting on him swinging at 3 bad pitches for the strikeout. I don't remember who it was against, but last week the team playing the Brewers were UI IBBing Fielder and he expanded the zone rolled over a ball that was outside into an easy Pierre to end the game. It has its merits, but I'd rather do it with a pitcher with better control than Dempster. And yeah, my bad on the DP thing, I don't know what I was thinking.
  12. I'll be taking a ~4 hour workday and sitting in the bleachers.
  13. See that's weird, I like the move a lot more with a 1 run lead. It sets up the game winning DP,(With a 2 run lead you can concede a run, and not necessarily need the DP) additionally that 3rd run on 1st base isn't as important as the runner that's already on 2nd, so who cares if Fielder's on.
  14. Just because Fielder is fat doesn't mean he's slow. Probably about the same speed as DeRosa.
  15. I don't care if you're disgusted by it, or don't believe in it, but let's hear it for the real rally starter. RALLY CREEPY AND HORRIFYING!!
  16. Probably not much. Low level relief prospect or cash I'd guess.
  17. Lou said Blanco will get the start behind the plate. Is there any reason that Blanco didn't get the start last night with Z pitching? With day game after night game coming up you either play Jason Kendall 2 full games in less than 24 hours or you play Blanco twice in 3 games.
  18. I can't find any still images of pickle girl.
  19. The Brewers are our toughest competition in the Central. Don't write them off.
  20. I don't like giving a reliever no room to work with on the bases, especially Dempster. I also don't like making it so a double puts us down rather than a HR. Doubles are easier to hit than HRs. If it was a tie game, 2 outs and nobody on do you walk Fielder there? If not then, then why here? It's not like Dempster was getting knocked around.
  21. I meant to point that out. Why is Geoff Jenkins sitting on the bench there. And this division is far from over Ender. And on the bright side for you guys, if you don't make it, Yost has to be gone.
  22. I love Marmol. You know the good pitcher. I was really just doing it to try and be (not really very) clever. But yeah, Dempster's a pretty good closer.
  23. And this is why you don't IBB Prince Fielder.
