  1. It'd probably be cheaper to just get rid of the kids.
  2. scUM played at UCLA in 2000, at Cuse in '99.
  3. I'd go with Ohman, Rapada, Pignatiello, Gallagher, Cedeno, Soto, Patterson, and Moore. I take 3 lefties so we can have a total of 4 and not hesitate to bring in a lefty to face just one hitter. Might make the games longer, but you have the resources so use them. Gallagher is there to eat innings in blowouts either way, also I believe we'll need one spot start due to the doubleheader with St. Louis. Cedeno gives us a defensive replacement at SS should Theriot be double switched or taken out for whatever reason. Soto a 3rd catcher, and 2nd righty off the bench on days when Murton or Monroe starts. Patterson pinch runner and a 3rd backup MIF Moore a 2nd power threat from the left side if Ward has hit already(assuming a Floyd start) EDIT: With the 3rd catcher I'd at least consider the idea of replacing Kendall late in the games with Blanco for defensive purposes, obviously only if it accompanies a new pitcher.
  4. who cares, Cubs are always going to lose no matter who is playing for the Cubs. Jayson Stark!
  5. 1.5 right? Ah, forgot about the Brewers. Mentally I've already designated the Cards as the competition. Don't, the Brewers are much better. i still think the cardinals will finish 5+ games out. Everyone on the Brewers team is having an all-world year, and they're still going to finish behind the Cards. Cause JJ Hardy doesn't scowl when he strikes out.

  7. If 2 of Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano don't start hitting for power the Brewers are going to win the division.
  8. Is this a joke? It almost sounds like you are trolling for responses. Are you going to start talking about fire and intensity now and suggesting that Lou needs to throw a fit and start throwing bases around out there to light a fire under the team? I don't agree with ICF at all, I think the whole facial expression thing is pure crap, but I would like it if Lou blew up and started screaming at this team behind closed doors. I don't think it could hurt at this point. I don't think "Mellow Lou" is a real big help at this point. It's a little too much like Dusty if you ask me. There has to be a balance. They're grown men, and you're not going to get anywhere if you scream at them 24/7/52
  9. In games that are already over... The only guys he'll ever let pitch when the games aren't over are Howry, Marmol, and Dempster, who have all been great as of late. Don't make me bring out my bastardized logic symbols again.
  10. Nice inning by Wuertz. Our pen is really good from the right side.
  11. Props to Fred plugging along with the play by play while the rest of us argue.
  12. Oh God. Are you seriously citing a player's facial expressions now?? Seriously?? Oh God. Yes I am. Seriously. Only a fool would think that something's not wrong with him based on that, and his poor offensive production this year. But don't let me muddy up your pollyannish view of this team, that's everything's just swell. I am impressed with your ability to judge people emotions and feelings based on their expressions. You must be one of the best poker players in mankind, I bet you can just see through people's poker faces. Let me ask you something. Can you tell if Zambrano cares whether he wins or loses? So there's like a total of 18 guys who care in all of baseball.

He can always tell when guys are bluffing cause they punch the wall before they make the bet. He knows when they aren't cause they say "woo-hoo"
  14. Crappy game by pretty much everyone on offense.
  15. Ramirez not hustling into 2nd!!! What if Estrada accidentally kicked that ball 40 feet away from himself???
  16. Ahhh, looked em up, it was a bunch of symbols not on a keyboard, and it all came rushing back to me. Regardless, I hope you guys understood what I was getting at. The only acceptable way to strike out is to break a bat over your knee.
  17. Considering he's only being brought in for mop-up duty, it's going to take a lot for him to prove his worth. It's time to give up the dream. Wood isn't going to be a good ML pitcher. Kerry Wood has to prove himself in important situations U Kerry Wood hasn't pitched in important situations. = Kerry Wood isn't good enough to pitch in important situations = Kerry Wood sucks. Sorry it's so sloppy, I sadly forgot my logic symbols. :(
  18. We have to stop thinking like that. There's no excuse to let a team that was just swept by a last place team to come into your house and win two out of three. None. The problem is that there's no killer instinct among anyone on this team (except maybe Z); they all think they can go 83-79 and win the World Series just like the Cards did. You know what? That's a rarity. You can't expect to play like utter dogcrap in the most important games of the year and be ready to throw the switch come playoff time. The Brewers are a dying team. Instead of nailing the coffin shut, we're giving them CPR. Yeah everyone else on the team besides Z isn't trying cause they want to put up as little effort as posible in winning the division. They certainly don't want to build up a lead so they can relax down the stretch. Only Z is trying, and I know this because he waves his arms when he ends an inning. Derrek Lee doesn't even smile that often.
  19. How many good outings does Kerry have to have before everyone stops saying he sucks?
  20. You just leave this thread open on your desktop waiting for the oppurtunity?
  21. Yeah, ya know or a soft grounder to the SS.
