  1. Lester and maybe Wood. His framing is especially strong with left handed pitchers who need to cut low and in to righties. Goodness. If Ross gets 60+ starts this year, I'm going to start fires.
  2. And half of Kansas was ineligible, but the NCAA has no desire to strip wins from an actual champion.
  3. I like the thought that they're making Paul Sullivan wait outside the stadium.
  4. I agree it seems strange to see guys choose rest over surgery, but I trust these teams' medical teams aren't incompetent to the level of putting off surgery to get one sub-optimal season before an inevitable surgery.
  5. BPro has them at 22% chance of making the playoffs, so they're certainly more likely to miss than make it, but they shouldn't be writing off their season in April either.
  6. So 155M well spent?
  7. 150M well spent. He had a 13/1 K/BB ratio this Spring. Jaxon's was 10-1 last spring #justsayin I'm not saying Tanaka is going to be as good as he was last year, but spiking the football(TM Kyle) over him now is hilarious.
  8. 150M well spent. He had a 13/1 K/BB ratio this Spring.
  9. That's the deal with the devil small-market teams make. The Brewers had their run, then the Reds are having theirs. When the Reds peter out, maybe the Pirates will be having theirs. Thats just your doom boner talking. In your heart, you know the Pirates will never have one.
  10. BA projecting 5 Big Ten teams in the tourney, with OSU the first team out. That's gotta be a record right? http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/projected-field-64-april-1/
  11. i have no idea what you're asking Like the entire jumbotron is the screen. For example the White Sox have their screen at center, and then a [expletive] ton of framing around it: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3207/2745324749_3010aacfcf.jpg The "framing" for ours appears to be artificial borders projected on the screen.
  12. So the only framing of the board will be digital right?
  13. I will also have been 40 by that time. lmao i will be in my late 30s ct will be old enough to drink Laurens will be potty trained by then.
  14. In 2021 this will all be water under the bridge. He will hopefully have two or three WS rings and love Chicago, but yes his contract will be very high but I don't think this will play any part of if he resigns with the Cubs or goes to the Yankees. You could be right, but some people dont forget, at the very least Boras wont forget. When he becomes a free agent, he'll be going to the highest bidder, no matter what. And it probably won't be the Cubs if Theo is still around. You did this just to troll me, right? He won't have enough surplus value.
  15. thank god this will no longer be a thing in less than 3 weeks (probably) Unlikely. If he mashes dongs right away every loss he missed out on becomes a win. If he sucks dong right away it's because they broke him by sending him down to AAA when he was clearly ready for the majors.
  16. Really? I still have him coming up on April 20th given Theo's preference for debuting new players on the road. keeping him down for 9 games makes perfect sense keeping him down any longer just for arbitrary reasons of comfort or whatever, doesn't Those extra games are only 0.127 WAR so what's it matter.
  17. Rahm should've shot down the request.
  18. I'm no huge fan of Coghlan but starting Szczur over him is crazy talk. I'm no huge fan of Szczur, but I'm not sure it is. If Szczur can put up numbers for a few weeks in Iowa, then I'll rethink my statement. I really hate Chris Coghlan.
  19. I don't like hearing this.
  20. What are we thinking for the call-up date. I've got April 24th at Cincy, which would be after 16 games.
  21. That's 100% false. Service time is based on time spent in the majors. Whether Bryant signed the day of the draft or when he did is immaterial, he was being held down regardless so the Cubs could own his rights in 2021. My confusion stems from players seemingly having different dates to be called up to the majors. I don't recall many players only having to be held out for 2 weeks. I mostly recall players having to wait until May. Maybe those players got called up in September of the previous year, while Bryant did not? In addition to that, there are guys who are held down til May-June in an attempt to avoid Super 2, which allows you to only have arbitration for 3 years. Bryant(assuming he is called up in late April will have 3 years auto-renewal and 4 years of arbitration. If held down til June, he'd have 4 years auto-renewal, 3 years of arbitration. ETA: Kerry Wood is the only Cub example I can think of held down for an extra year, and he made his debut on the 13th day of the season. I feel like it gets ignored more with pitchers. The White Sox are doing the same thing to Rodon, and the media has barely noticed. Well, Rodon isn't Kris Bryant for 1. And secondly, holding down a pitcher costs you like 2 starts, so it's less noticeable.

  24. By that reasoning virtually everyone in baseball has all star ceiling
