    Because the pitcher's spot is right after him and the bench is short with La Stella out and Olt probably out too. I could live with that line of thought of the Cubs were up 1 run' date=' but down 2 he has no business at the plate. You worry about the bench when the game is tied or if you are winning. Leake at near 100 pitches and finishes the inning before I could finish the post. FFS![/quote'] With TLS and Olt out you have a 3 man bench, which is closer to a 2 man bench because of catchers. In a close game you can't sacrifice one of them in that situation. Maybe Ross should be in the role of catcher who sits on the bench in case somebody dies in the 14th inning.
