  1. Agreed, but his penchant to act like people in the game threads here is displeasing to say the least.
  2. We're going to be not so good next year, but I love the class we have coming in thus far for 09! You guys need to get rid of Frank Martin before making the next step.
  3. It looks like IU could be screwed for years over the Sampson mess. The NCAA is going after the program for not fulfilling their promise to monitor Sampson's calls (remember when he was first hired he wasn't allowed to do any recruiting but they changed it just not allowing him to go on visits since he was at a different program who had a good history of following the rules). This would me the program would get sanctions and probably more than just minor ones because they didn't do their job (and Greenspan resigning is a very bad sign of the program's hands being dirty). It could blow over, IU could lose scholarships, IU could be banned from post season play for awhile or a combo on the last two. It will be interesting to see what happens and if it gets ugly whether Crean jumps ship at some point. From what I have read, Samspon pretty much threw IU under the bus. Saying they new what he was doing all along. Yeah Kelvin as an adult you shouldn't be responsible for your own actions. Were I the NCAA I would fine him too, hopefully $1m worth to make him lose his parting severance. Comes in to one of the top 5 programs of all time and proceeds to just railroad it. What an ehtical guy he is. He's gonna get show-caused, I'm sure, but he's really getting off easy.
  4. He's hitting 500 on contact.
  5. i doubt that he has; most competent clubs do not evaluate potential acquisitions on the basis of a a couple of poor performances. Its not just a couple of performances. Hopefully none of the clubs have actually scouted him playing 2b either. In Iowa his 2b was actually worse than his LF if that is possible. i highly doubt that that is true. Oh, its true. There is a reason the Cubs are trying to find a different position for him, and its not because DeRosa is blocking him. It's because they're obsessed with versatility.
  6. sadness 2 out of the top 10 in the big leagues.
  7. I was hoping you were gonna with the Chris Farley Show motif after those first 2. 'Member when, when that Cardinals manager fell asleep at the red light, that was awesome.
  8. Especially after this That game was the reason WHY they did it. I couldn't care less about this because the alternating years method that they employed before this was just about as dumb. How would you decide home field? I personally don't have a problem with the alternating years method. The way it's done now with the ASG is flat out dumb. I don't think it's fair to allow the team with the better record to do it because the two WS teams played only a couple of the same opponents during the year. At least with home-field within the NL, the two teams still played a majority of games against the same teams. And if you use interleague record, I don't think that's fair either because you're allowing teams who don't even make the playoffs to help decide which league gets home field. name me a professional sport where every team plays the exact same schedule haha, pretty much every professional soccer league in Europe. They might play extra games that don't count towards the league championship, but everyone plays the exact same schedule for the league. Fairly significant difference. All those leagues constitute the sport when combined. They end up playing each other in a champions league, right? Well, not every league is in the Champions league, and there's other championship tournaments that are played for besides the Champions League. I know there's more to it than that, but my point was there are a very different comparisons for something like the EPL and MLB or NFL. Of course the NFL plays on a neutral site.
  9. No, Jones was better than Pie, and Sherill was better than Ceda.
  10. I can't believe how bad Cleveland is all of a sudden.
  11. I was gonna say he's not doing anything that fans of the Astros don't want to. I'm sure you can ask around your hometown what with the abundance of Astros fans there.
  12. I thought it was bad that I went to 4-2 last night. You guys suck.
  13. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/jerrybrewer/2008001424_brewer17.html http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/mariners/2008001507_bavasi17.html
  14. What's with the infusion of Cardinals fans pretending to be Cubs fans? There's no reason to pretend, we're fine with Wolf and CFICT, (and I think a few others?) Don't hide your homerism behind this I'm a Cubs fan, but ya gotta admit Ryan Ludwick is a pretty similar player to Jose Reyes thing.
  15. He already accused the Rangers of doing it a few years ago.
  16. I'll keep an eye out for you Mark, I'm going from work and meeting a friend's family out there, but if I run directly into you, I guess I'm morally obligated to buy you a beer.
  17. His quote about Bedard was better. He was asked why Bedard wasn't giong far in games and he said "You gotta ask him. Good luck. And he's gonna have some stupid answer, some dumbass answer."
  18. I'll be in the bleachers attempting to keep my winning streak (of 4 games I think) alive.
  19. The Royals really really really really need to get rid of Neifi Perez Jr. I was gonna argue that his defense is worth it, then I checked and saw he's OPS+ing ZERO.
  20. Carlos Gomez sucks. His head is permanently in his ass.
  21. I'd bet a lot of money they have no contingency plan.
