  1. I'm gonna lose all the faith that I've slowly re-gained in Hendry if he makes some dumbass move like acquiring an averageish starter just cause he happens to be old.
  2. Those lucky ass Cardinals stole 2 out of 6 from the Royals and have Jason LaRue putting up a .229 .340 .337 line.
  3. In case anyone's wondering, there is about 2 weeks between now and the all star break. Apparently some people believe we're losing 5 games in the standings in the next 2 weeks. It's gonna really suck when we finish 25 games out at the end of the season.
  4. Over/Under on how many innings Ascanio is going to pitch this time up? 3?
  5. As fun as last weekend was, giving up all the hits to DEWAYNE WISE was killing me.
  6. Yeah, let's ignore their combine line of 4 IP, 5 Runs vs. us this year. Yeah lets use that small sample size and ignore what they've done the other 80+ innings they've thrown this year, or the numbers they've all put up during their careers. Yeah let's call the game over down by 1 run with 2 innings to go.

  8. They'll probably keep Thornton in thru Fukudome.
  9. Kenny Williams has made some really good acquisitions for little to nothing(Ramirez's salary, Thornton, his pen in '05, Pierzynski's first contract, Uribe before he sucked, Quentin was a steal. Oh and Contreras.

  11. As an update, the guys I said are our best hitters today are 0-6 with 1 BB.
  12. Wrong What am I wrong about? He's gotta settle in He... shouldn't settle in? He can't settle cause he's too young and needs some experience. If we were talking about Paul Byrd, that'd be a different story.
  13. How bout a fly short of the warning track like Crede's?
  14. CubsGM is UMFan's alter posting name when he's not feeling quite as bright and sunny about the Cubs as usual.
  15. Were you cringing Gallagher's last 5 starts as he put up a 2.83 ERA? No but still in terms of experience? Gallagher maybe a good pitcher in the future but he is only 22 and still inexperienced. Marshall is a total different story as he doesn't belong starting. Maybe I'm just frustrated the way the whole team is playing and you can't blame the injuries because other guys gotta step up. Should I bold his #s next time?? He's a decent pitcher now!! Maybe we'd be better with an experienced guy like Steve Trachsel.

  17. It's what I wondered, under what definition is a fly out to RF a bleeder?
  18. Bonds would make a lot of sense as an August 31st signing for an NL team destined for the playoffs. You leave him on the bench to pinch hit, in key situations. When he walks you've got a huge roster in September to pinch run for him. You get him on the roster in time to make the playoff roster, where you only have 11 man pitching staffs, affording yourself a guy on the bench who does nothing but pinch hit once a game. Then if you make the World Series you have him as your DH.
  19. Ramirez-Edmonds-Soto are hitting 5-6-7 and are probably the guys I have the most faith in considering Kosuke's injury and Lee's hitting as of late.
  20. That's just [expletive]. I wonder how good he would be if he had access to today's training methods? Well, the pitchers would have the same training methods.
  21. What were they supposed to be making noise about, cutting the lead to 6?
  22. I cant see how the astros would have to pay him after reading this. i also dont see how more teams dont get out of more contracts with this clause. I didn't see how the Pirates were gonna have to pay Derrek Bell after Operation Shutdown, but they did.
