    I won't really buy this til I see it. Everyone said the same thing about them stupidly putting Podsednik into CF, and they knew better that he was awful out there. Griffey is much more awful out there.

    The best distribution of their current guys is Quentin-Swisher-Griffey in the OF, Dye at 1B, Thome at DH.

    I wrote off Bailey as a prospect about 6 months ago, but that's a ridiculous trade. Laird isn't any good.

    This is worse than the Edmonds deal because the White Sox have to give up something in return. Plus, the Cubs had Felix Pie that they were replacing. Now don't get me started on the "chance" that Felix got, but they were replacing a position that wasn't producing. Griffey plays the 3 positions where the White Sox 3 best hitters happen to play, unless you want to force him into CF. And while Edmonds is a pretty bad fielder in CF these days. He's worlds better than Griffey out ther. Griffey is a DH with a glove on. They did project as similar hitters at the time of their acquisitions though.

    People said the same thing about Matt Murton. Murton got traded because the Cubs also offered Gallagher in the deal. The point is he had value to the A's. It's not like Hendry said, ok I'll do the trade, but only on the condition that you take Murton off my hands. We don't know what his value was and he could have been a throw in. Comparing the Marquis situation with the Murton situation doesn't make much sense. The point is that the Murton haters(who were admittedly a weird bunch) said that nobody wanted Murton, that's why he was still in AAA. Now you're saying the same thing, that the only reason Marquis is on the team is because nobody wants him. You have next to nothing to back this up.

    Out of those 3, Soto. I like being somewhat unique in mine. Of course this also leads to buying a Rich Hill shersey last September. :doh: I'd probably go with Harden or Edmonds.

    Even if Kyle Farnsworth were a good RP, why would the Tigers want him? They can't truly think they can jump up 5.5 games in the next 2 months, can they? Look who they're chasing. The White Sox and Twins aren't bulletproof. If the Tigers picked up a legit bullpen arm rather than Farns, it probably would've helped a lot.

    He wasn't referring to PEDs, more about the (truthfully kind of annoying) talk of Cardinals pixie dust making guys better than they should be. HAHA Juan Gonzalez? That was the only reason they picked him up that one spring training. They needed some extra stuff for all the ST invites.
