    I didn't jinx Z yesterday by saying "no-hitter" about a dozen times after the 5th inning. Guy in my section said the word no hitter after 2 innings yesterday. Even in person karma couldn't derail Z.

    An amazing performance. He could have completed the no-no with just six fielders. There were only two fly balls all night, both to Derosa in right. I don't think Ramirez got a single assist either. The only well hit ball was the liner to Derosa in the 6th or 7th. Z really helped himself out as well. That play on the dribbler in front of the plate early in the game was very nice and had no margin for error. He also gave a clinic on covering first base. Hopefully CC's watching and learning. My thoughts exactly, the play was pretty much a carbon copy of the Sabathia hit only on the other baseline. Z picked and fired cleanly, Sabathia couldn't. What an amazing frickin time this was. And all for 30 bucks. I still can't go to sleep and I'm working in 6 hours.

    Yeah that's bizarre too. Does the MLB have any clue what they are doing? What happens if it for some reason is Boston vs. White Sox for the WC, what are they going to do? BTW, the fact that the White Sox get HFA over Minny in a potential one game playoff is HUGE They can flip another coin.

    Wrongo He does NOT get free tickets to every game. The tickets he gets are from other fans. He is a giant pain in the butt. Plus he's a prick to everyone who works there. How is he a pain in the butt and a prick to the staff at Wrigley? I'm not trying to be difficult or incredulous to the claims about him--I'm just curious. And is it the same group of fans that gives him tickets? How does that work? Roast told him to sit down and he didn't.

    Maybe they meant the 37 yard line? 13 safeties and a couple fumbles in the end zone recovered by the D. They needed the 13th safety because they missed the PATs.

    Actually he is hitting just like he used to. He had one fluke season in the middle of his peak years. He's well past that peak and will most likely remain well below his peak numbers going forward. Why is this so hard for people to understand/accept? He's probably capable of multiple hot streaks that could last a month or more at a time. But DLee 2005 is never coming back, and he's most likely never going to look anything like that again. The problem is Lee was DLee '05 in April, and since then he's been as bad as he's been since before he was any good. It's a disturbing trend.

    Muskat's job is to be a mouthpiece for the organization, it's not fair to compare her to Mariotti. And even if you are, Mariotti is a look at me hack.

    I guess you have to go for work and all. I remember being offered Sox tickets for free on multiple occasions when I lived at home. The answer was always, "no thanks, I'd rather watch the Cubs on tv." Of course, the answer could have just as easily been, "no thanks, I'm going to stay home and poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick." Go Cole...and go Tigers! No Cubs on TV made it an easy call to go for the tailgating.

    I'm going to the White Sox game with work tonight. I'm not going to be rude and cheer for the Tigers, but I'm not going to sell out my roots and cheer for the White Sox. I'll probably be exceptionally bored or exceptionally drunk. GO COLE!!

    So we gotta be up by 2.5 after that last game. I hope the Astros are out of it by then too and McClane misses out on the entire gate. EDIT: Thinking about this now, it's really important that these games are meaningless and not be made up, otherwise our first round opponent can set their rotation even if they have to play down to the last day of the season. You simply can not add 3 games on the end of the schedule, not when you have legit alternative options.
