  1. Hasn't Edmonds been pretty good despite his low BA recently? An .880 OPS in August and a 1.122 so far in September. A 653 OPS in the last 14 days. 1167 the last 7.
  2. Yes, though he has had the benefit of being platooned.
  3. Why is everyone so eager to throw dirt on Edmonds? He's been the best hitter on the team, and people are still trying to replace him.
  4. How in the hell does one get LT and Addai?
  5. Adding guys to the 40 man right now doesn't mean there won't be spots available for the rule 5. It does quite likely mean that McGehee and Wells will be on the 40 man come December. I'd imagine Koyie gets bumped again, but I'd be surprised if either of the other 2 were.
  6. At the expense of what else though? There's no real downside. Correct. There are several spots being occupied by essentially zero-value guys who can be jettisoned with no heartburn whatsoever. I haven't looked it over too hard, but I'm talking for Rule 5 purposes come December. I'd rather keep Jake Fox or even Fuld over McGehee. Atkins and Veal are the only ones of the top of my head that should be rostered over Wells, but I've been carrying my torch for Matt Craig and Josh Kroeger for too long to let somebody worthless like McGehee take their spot.
  7. Start Maroney. I have an irrational hatred of Braylon Edwards so don't ask me about him.
  8. Anyone else not real happy with the way 40 man spots are being frittered away? This is mainly an extension of my McGehee hate, but I don't think getting Wells on the 40 man should've been a priority, and I really don't think he provides much of anything to our current pen.
  9. 2 down, ON YOUR FEET
  10. I need to start buying mlbtv for Septembers.
  11. Methinks Francisco Cordero is going to be jacked for this.
  12. Really dew? I think the 3 Mikes are pretty terrible doing a game.
  13. It'd be nice if Edwin were clutch.
  14. YAHOO KEPPINGER!!
  15. I'm guessing something good happened. COME ON YAHOO
  16. Can Gagne close plz?
  17. Volquez had to have been up around 115 pitches there?
  18. The Rays have about as much of a chance of missing the playoffs as we do.
  19. He's not a rookie. Soto will win it in a walk, with Jurrjens being the only other guy I could see getting 1st place votes.
  20. That's what I would do at this point. Play Hoff in RF and move Kos to CF. Edmonds had a nice run but he's been bad the past month or so. 808 OPS the last 28 days.
  21. We're going to have to play much better to even come in with a 7-12 finish. I know you're positively giddy right now, but why are our last 19 games going to be played at the level of our last 8? If that's the way things worked, wouldn't we have dominated these last 8 games considering we were hot heading into those? We're 8-8 our last 16, why aren't we going to keep up that pace? Better yet, we're 86-57 over our last 143 games, why not play at that pace?
  22. Well, they definitely have options now. They can cut him and bring up another player with his 40 man spot. They can DL him, and then sneak another player onto the playoff roster using his spot. Or, they could decide they don't need either of those things and do nothing. That wording of that sentence is really strange though. He returned home and "informed" the general manager that he couldn't pitch anymore? That screams that something is going on behind the scenes. That was my thought as well. I didn't read the article but it sounded to me like Lieber wasn't happy with his role, and took his ball and went home.
  23. If this is true, then it's tough guy Lou getting all pouty about a pitcher needing rest. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.
