I wish. It's really just a simple matter of Soriano being a great hitter against crappy pitchers who make mistakes, and a terrible hitter against great pitchers who don't make mistakes. You see a lot of those in the playoffs. Great pitchers who don't make mistakes: Doug Davis, Livan Hernandez, Mark Redman, Carl Pavano, John Burkett, Brad Radke, Jarrod Washburn, Ramon Ortiz, Kevin Appier, Cory Lidle, Aaron Sele, Paul Abbot, Brian Anderson, and Miguel Batista. And that's not even touching on all those unhittable relievers who are incredible pitchers who never make mistakes. Ya know, guys like a 58 year old Mike Morgan, a 72 year old Greg Swindell, an 86 year old Bobby Witt, Jose Paniagua, Jim Mecir, Jeff Tam, I mean these are HOF level guys.
