  1. when mcnabb's leg falls off later this season, i'm sure we'll return the favor Just post the celebration pics when the Cowboys win a playoff game or 2 like they usually do. that's been the plan for 12 years i'm startin to get blue balls plus, we're emulating truffle here, so i can only celebrate when someone else's team loses IMB did not see what I did there. no i get it, we haven't won a playoff game since i was like, 8. hence the 12 year plan thing. Be more offended and angry. Don't roll with the punches jerk. i thought you got b& after that fight with 1908, what happened? I will kick your baseball ass.
  2. Who's saying that? Alot of us just don't want to see the cubs slap a bandaid on a proverbial gaping chest wound and would rather to try to sew it up with possibly unsanitary instruments. RedFlash said that. I want Pie starting in CF on opening day with Edmonds on the bench. It's probably unlikely that Lou would let Pie work it out should he struggle at all or even give him the start at all, but ideally it'd be nice.

  6. So Matt Cassel sucks then, right? I guess I'll finally drop him from my fantasy team.
  7. Julio Lugo, yes that would've been the answer. He's been awful the last 2 years. At least he's not me first though. He makes sure his wife gets her hits before he worries about his own.
  8. Oh look a post putting actual statistics out there was ignored completely with more anecdote and arble garble.
  9. Pretty sure that has nothing to do with it. I'm a reluctant Obama voter. It's just a bad impression. It's not like he's doing anything insulting to Obama that would offend his fans. It's just a terrible impression that sounds nothing like him.
  10. I don't think anyone in favor of bringing back Edmonds is counting on him being out there for 550 ABs of 950 OPS. They are banking on 250-300 PAs of an 800 OPS with the ability to fake it in CF. That's worth an easy 3M. Saying Pie will match Jim's Cubs production?? I love Felix Pie and am pissed with how he's been handled, but this is completely insane.
  11. If we spend actual money on a bullpen arm that isn't Kerry Wood I'm gonna be really pissed.
  12. I believe I've moved up 3 spots, supposedly due to people dying.
  13. But the whole point of every game is to win the damn thing. You don't rule that the teams are equal when one team did what it took to win, and the other one lost. I view rankings as a judgement of what a team did, not what a team is capable of in the future. Otherwise there's no point to the games other than to see how talented the team is. It is no longer a competition, but instead is a showcase of who's more athletic and skilled in the game of football. That's not how it works, and it's not how it should work. When an actual game starts, the outcome of it damn sure should matter, no matter how terribly unathletic and untalented one team may be, if they win, that's that. I'm not going to wipe it off the slate because the other team outgained them by 300 yards and kept fumbling in the red zone. With the NCAA(and NFL) season being as short as it is and with the ridiculously unbalanced schedules(relative to opponents), putting such weight on what a team has done over the previous 12 games(let alone 5) just seems outrageous to me, and then when something goes against the numbers(accumulated over 5 games), to call that a fluke or an anomaly. Well that's [expletive] crazy.
  14. Wait....Ole Miss > Mizzou? Awesome. I mean, I know they beat St. Tebow, but still. Just awesome.
  15. To illustrate my point Soriano has sucked against AJ Burnett(200 OPS in 10 PAs), John Lackey (315 in 33 PAs), Rich Harden(364 in 22 PAs), Josh Johnson(385 in 13 PAs), and Pedro(415 in 44 PAs) He's also sucked against Seth McClung(244 in 13 PAs), Jose Mercedes (308 in 13 PAs), Gil Meche(170 in 19 PAs), and Travis Harper(344 in 24 PAs) He's beat up on Lance Cormier, Jorge Julio, Pete Walker, Josh Towers, and Jose Lima. He's also done great against Jake Peavy, Danny Haren, Kevin Brown, and Chris Carpenter.
  16. I wish. It's really just a simple matter of Soriano being a great hitter against crappy pitchers who make mistakes, and a terrible hitter against great pitchers who don't make mistakes. You see a lot of those in the playoffs. Great pitchers who don't make mistakes: Doug Davis, Livan Hernandez, Mark Redman, Carl Pavano, John Burkett, Brad Radke, Jarrod Washburn, Ramon Ortiz, Kevin Appier, Cory Lidle, Aaron Sele, Paul Abbot, Brian Anderson, and Miguel Batista. And that's not even touching on all those unhittable relievers who are incredible pitchers who never make mistakes. Ya know, guys like a 58 year old Mike Morgan, a 72 year old Greg Swindell, an 86 year old Bobby Witt, Jose Paniagua, Jim Mecir, Jeff Tam, I mean these are HOF level guys.
  17. OH SHI- At least Arkansas will have Ryan Mallett next year. You mean Michigan.
  18. OH SHI- Just go with it. Nobody will notice.
  19. Throw in a Florida win and this is about as worst case scenario as this week could get for the SEC.
  20. It didn't matter, the ball was moving as he was on top of the defender. Whether it was because he was trying to lateral or was fumbling, he still didn't have full possession. Game of inches for sure, if he waited til he was on the ground and threw it backwards, you have madness ensue, the play gets reviewed, ND sets up a play and maybe wins. I really don't like that play call though, you've gotta go end zone there.
  21. They shouldn't.(and probably wouldn't) I don't think Penn State goes undefeated though. A 1 loss Big XII team wouldn't be a complete crime. A 1 loss SEC team over an undefeated PSU team would be criminal. What's your reasoning behind this? Because I think the Big XII is a better conference. I guess I'm viewing this solely from a Texas/OU side where they'd have a bunch of wins over great teams. Missouri with 1 loss wouldn't deserve it.
  22. Don't mistake incompetence with favoritism
  23. I think the crew might have this wrong. I think they might be reviewing the spike to see if he got it off in time.
  24. If they let ND get one more play and they score, there'll be riots in Chapel Hill.
  25. I have absolutely no idea what they saw to overturn that. I guess it's possible they saw the ball move when he tucked it in, but I certainly didn't see it. Bad TO by ND here unless Claussen was too hurt. You go for the first down here, TO, then end zone.
