  1. He'd probably start for NJIT. Or Indiana.
  2. Seriously who's going to take 5th place in the Big Ten this year? Any team you can suggest sounds ridiculous. Is Penn State really going to take 5th?
  3. Minnesota was 3-14 against top 100 teams last year. 2 of those wins were against #100 Iowa State and the charred remains of Indiana basketball as they mailed in the rest of their season. For reference Ohio State was 11-11.
  4. It's probably more likely that Iowa wins less than 20 over the next 2 years than wins 20 this year. Minnesota finishing one spot below OSU does not mean they were remotely close to them last year. And Ohio State underachieved while Minnesota overachieved thanks to an easy schedule. Man there are a lot of bad teams in the Big 10 this year.
  5. I've been to Notre Dame and Ball State football and basketball games probably upwards of 80 times between them and have yet to lose the excitement out of any of them... I do think 81 Cubs games would probably make it slightly less exciting though. That's because you can't compare going to 80 combined games between 4 teams over your life to going to 81 games of one team in 6 months. You can if it's Ball State basketball.
  6. Why? http://blogs.suntimes.com/fullcourtpress/sampson4.jpg Oh God, Bama football and IU basketball.
  7. Purdue played some games against some very strong competition in Australia over the summer. All reports from that indicate that Moore showed a stronger ability to create shots for himself than he did as a freshman. I think he was a little tentative for the majority of his first season. Part of that probably had to do with the fact that his ball-handling skills weren't anything great. It sounds like he's really improved that part of his game, and that's one of the reasons I can see him really taking off this year. Like you said, Hummell is a player. I'm curious to see how he builds off of his success as a freshman, since he was a strong all-around player. It wouldn't surprise me if he really improved his rebounding numbers this season. Moore averaged 27 points per game against the Australian teams. It should be noted they didn't play other Australian college teams they played the professional teams and went 2-3. Morgan or someone from MSU will almost have to be on first team because they will finish in the top three. I wouldn't just pencil them in the top 3. Purdue is better than them. Wisconsin will be in the top of the conference, they always are and Bo rents Izzo's butt out each year as he owns him. Ohio State has as much talent as they do. I do think that MSU will be at the top, but I do not think they are a lock to finish above any of those teams. I think it goes: 1. Purdue 2. Michigan State 3. Wisconsin 4. Ohio State/Minnesota I'm saying this because Wisconsin lost to much this year. Yeah they held onto Landry and Flowers, but all those big guys graduated. Ohio State is very talented, but we have to see if that pans out and on the other hand Minnesota was last year where everyone predicted Purdue was going to be last year. So who knows maybe a year into Tubby Smith and all those Sophomores will make this team even better? Minnesota's not very good. They aren't close to Ohio State.
  8. I'd be ecstatic with just a Pie/Ceda for Hermida deal, but IF we could get them to throw in Gregg for Castillo and Cedeno, I might be interested. That said, you're probably right about the history closing overvaluing him and at that point, I'd lose interest. I wouldn't trade Castillo straight up for Gregg.
  9. He's white. Not really, but man, that is a white lineup.
  10. Yeah dumb question, but Warner or P. Manning?
  11. Ummmmm he made second team All Big Ten last year and Hummel is the only returning first teamer meaning there are plenty of open slots. He is also the conferences leading returning scorer and Michigan will likely be better than they were last year. Manny Harris was a guard with a A/TO ratio worse than 1. Much worse than 1. Michigan's returning roster sucks. Their incoming freshmen suck. John Beilien should get down on his knees and thank God every day for the charred remains of the Indiana Hoosiers or they'd be a lock for last in the Big 10.
  12. Manny Harris is so not making the All Big Ten team. Michigan will be terrible.
  13. That is so not true. I recall a lot of people wanting TT around here.
  14. Sciambi. I didn't know Sciambi did color with Len. That had to be incredible. Boog is even better than Len.
  15. To be fair, He never said he was better than Elway. He said he had a better arm. There is no part of Jay Cutler that is better than John Elway. His teeth.
  16. so dmac, hummel, Moore and who else? Someone on IU. I bet it's the guy who scored 3 points per game in JUCO.
  17. Is he really a darkhorse? If the Vikings go 6-10, I think he's toast.
  18. Joe Kerrigan a transvestite? Oh, nearly.
  19. Mike Nolan. Fired.
  20. I was kinda counting on the playoff berth getting Sveum the full time job. That'd be pretty great.
  21. So when Brenly wins the series with the Brewers, do we lynchmob Len for teaching him how to manage?
  22. OkSU fans tend to get their panties in a wad when you refer to anyone from Oklahoma as "okies". It's one of those regional slurs that originated during the Great Depression. I personally don't mind it, though. I will be cheering for the bright orange clad sheep shaggers this week, though. :banghead: The sad state of Oklahoma ;-) Yea, it sucks having to share a state with fail like this. What do they pay you to go there?
  23. Edmonds has played some first, right? Was he any good? They could pair him up with Rich Aurilia. Rich Aurilia probably shouldn't be playing in the majors next year.
  24. after 100 years, yeah, its WS or bust for me. However, I would have settled for going down valiantly in the playoffs not yay, we won another division flag, vacation time. wow, you're 108 years old or whatever? that's crazy. i mean, i'm only 23, and didn't really follow the team until i was like 10, so i've got 13 years to claim. i mean, it wouldn't make sense for me to whine about the team's performance in the years before i existed, so i assume you're not doing it either. Why can't I? If the Cubs had won in 1982, the year before I was born, I would never have to grow up hearing about the team's inept past, curses, black cats, etc. If I, as a Cubs fan, have to carry the baggage of the teams past failures, I sure as hell can complain about it. Pre-2006, do you think Cardinals fans born after 1982 spent any less time ripping on Cubs fans for their historic drought because they hadn't experienced a title in their lifetime? Seriously, pretending the 100 year story is meaningless to any Cubs fan who isn't 100 years old is rather ridiculous. There's a difference between having to suffer the idiocy of mediots and opposing fan mouthbreathers and talking about "100 years of suffering"
  25. NIT unless Alex Legion immediately lights the world on fire(he won't) The team is going to be a lot better if just for regression to the mean. Last year was not a 16-17 team(or whatever it is we finished at). This year's team is a little better at best but will probably manage 19 wins just by not losing every game that's a coin flip or slightly better.
