  1. Because it's the Twins, they love defense. Then wouldn't it make more sense to leave young in the OF and DH Cuddyer?
  2. USC Texas Oklahoma Ohio St. Michigan Penn St. Florida St. Florida LSU Alabama
  3. Names you will hear: Davis and Leach. Lane Kiffin Will Muschamp Tim Brewster Chris Petersen and, yes, Jon Gruden. (Gruden was a GA at Tennessee under Majors, and his wife is from nearby Sevierville. There is a rumor out there that Gruden was asked if he'd listen to Tennessee about the job, and that his reply was that he would listen. Didn't claim interest, just said that he'd listen.) Saban?
  4. If that's all it took, this deal should have been done yesterday. It's going to cost a couple more prospects along with that package. But, it would still be more than worth it. What about a 3 way? Cubs get: Peavy, prospect from Twins or Giles if he waves NTC. Twins get: Khalil Greene, Jose Ascanio or Kevin Hart Padres get: Delmon Young, Sean Marshall, Pie/Fontenot/Cedeno, Jose Ceda/Wellington Castillo, and Mitch Atkins/Donnie Veal/Larry Suarez/Gaudin(if they want a more major league ready guy) That might actually work. Greene could have a good year in Minnesota. They need a SS, and I don't think they are that high on Delmon. Minnesota isn't going to pay 6.5M for Greene after the season he had last year. They're not going to give up on Young after one season either. They are trading Young this offseason they want to make room so their OF can be Span, Gomez and Cuddyer. They have said they are looking to trade him for a 3B or SS. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to move Cuddyer back to 3B? And who DHs? And why are they paying Khalil Greene 6.5M?

  6. who is keller? what should we expect from him? JUCO transfer. 2nd leading scorer in the country last year. He's being coached to solely play defense and rebound due to the deficiencies there from our other big men. What to expect? He's a JUCO, who knows. If he sticks to the plan and worries about D and boards only and isn't your standard JUCO who wants to get his 15 shots then I think he'l be a big help. Don't expect much more than 6-7 points a game though.
  7. Sulley HATES Mike Tisdale
  8. I've got me at 15-3 with an 16.2 per game off on score. You're at 14-4 with 12.4 per game off.
  9. I'm on it
  10. We never got a final tally on yesterday did we? I'll go figure that out.
  11. Sarcasm and elitism aside, I already made mention that the only reason I have personally to believe in Rich is the one season. That was kind of my point. Was that one season enough to convince people he can come back at equal or better value, or is he done? It was a simple question, and honestly your response pisses me off. Just really no need for the sarcastic attitude. It doesn't make you look good. If you believe that Rich's '07 is the only sign that he was any good then you're not going to be satisfied with anyone's response.
  12. I don't understand what you're saying with the option part. And no, he's not the best backup in the league.
  13. Bryant was 2-3 on FGs on that drive.
  14. Whoever made that bet, I think should split the difference. Send him 18 packs of skittles. Grossman didn't play poorly, but the defense totally carried the team.
  15. It's weird - they just lost to the current #3 team and recently beat the #4 team. Where can you rank them that doesn't have some quirk? Can't be in the top 3 and you're not going to drop OU a spot to #5, so you had to know Texas would be below OU in the standings this week. 3 spots might be too many, but I don't see how you can rank them higher than 6th right now. ETA - if you're the AP, I guess you just drop OU 2 spots. Wow. i don't know what i'd do with the rest of the teams up in that area - alabama, penn st, florida, usc, etc. - but i do know that i would have the big xii teams ranked texas tech, texas, oklahoma. that's the only thing that makes sense right now. tech beat texas and texas beat oklahoma, all within the last month. if tech loses to okie st or oklahoma, then it's a free for all, but right now i don't understand how you can put OU above texas. Agreed. I don't care that Oklahoma blew out Nebraska this week. That doesn't guarantee that they can't drop a spot in the polls. The AP poll looks fine to me with Texas ahead of Oklahoma and the top-3 all being undefeated teams. I'm thinking there's no way you could rank OU 3-8 without angering someone's fanbase. I don't think OU is deserving of a #1 vote, but blowing out an also-ran shouldn't cause a team to drop in the polls. However, Texas did beat OU, and for now, deserves to be ahead of OU on that merit. I'm guessing OU was the toughest team to rank this week. Texas fans have pretty good reason to cry this week though. They're definitely better than USC. based on what? Merit. Texas has wins against #4, #8, and #13. Their loss is to #3. USC has a win against 12. Their loss is to an unranked team.
  16. Please say you have a couple guys that are on the bye. Frank Gore's on bye. I picked up Bennett at the last second(dropping Maurice Morris) and started him over Cedric Benson. I figured Tampa was good for at least 2 rushing TDs today and wanted to hedge my bets and get them since Bennett is the #2 RB today(and Gruden loves splitting carries). That and I didn't see Benson or Morris as a good bet to get much more than 50 yards or so. I have Gore, V. Jackson, Steve Smith, Colston, and Devery Henderoson on bye weeks. I'd be shocked if I get a win this week.

  18. 21-3 Chiefs, and I'm starting Graham and Bennett at RB
  19. Black shirts.
  20. You're right. I'm not saying UF should be in the title game. I am not saying merit and quality are the same thing. It's the same way in baseball. It doesn't stop us from saying a team with a worse win loss record in baseball is better than another one. The current system is merit based...for two teams. It should be merit based. The real problem with the system is the only two spots in the title game. It should be two more. The current system is what it is though. What really sucks is that Big Ten and Pac 10 teams don't play title games. It hurt them sometimes, it helps them sometimes. When they're undefeated, it helps them because they don't have to play a title game. When they have a loss, it hurts them because they don't have a chance to impress the voters with a big game at the end. It always causes them to have relatively weak schedules though - even in years when the Pac 10 or Big Ten are the top leagues in the country. Really, I think a +1 system is inevitable. A +1 system will inevitably lead to a team that clearly isn't on the same level as the #1 ranked team winning the national title. Then everyone will whine that this team even had a chance and how the regular season means nothing. Then we'll get to a tournament and college football won't be as popular anymore.
  21. Something's not right with Rich, and that something needs to be fixed. I don't know if its his mechanics, his mental approach, his hiding an injury, but he's clearly not the same person. You for whatever reason think whatever's wrong with him has no possibility of being fixed. I disagree. Calling his '07 a fluke, and insinuating he's never been that good at any other time is ludicrous.
