    Alex Legion's debut in about 5 minutes(well the game's in 5 minutes, I'm guessing he won't come in til after the first time out.) on Big Ten Network.

    He hasn't hit 20 HRs or driven in 100 since 2003. He was pretty bad last year and is 37 years old. IIRC he's a bad defender these days too. So no.

    No, he won't be much better than average at 3B, he'd be pretty awful at 2B. And Jeff Francoeur is terrible. He hasn't been a good major leaguer since his half season his rookie year.

    Illinois night of Legends thing they did earlier this year with all the old players back followed by a game between the greats who can still run is on Big Ten Network right now. Pretty cool stuff.

    I for one am going to laugh my ass off if Teixeira spurns one of the winningest and highest profile franchises in MLB in favor of spending the rest of his career in baseball purgatory so he can add an extra $10 or $20M to what is already guaranteed to be a contract that will put an end to all of his monetary needs for several lifetimes.     by that standard, you wouldn't be able to fill an NFL, MLB or NBA roster OR AN NHL ROSTER. Just because they make less money and are less popular and aren't primarily American doesn't mean they're any less douchebaggy.

    Please be Mike Shaw. Or Blackshear. no way that it's blackshear, he's at least going to give self the chance to drive a dump truck full of money up to his house. i would guess shaw. if shaw commits soon, our chances with blackshear will go up significantly. Reading the various boards/interviews I'm pretty confident we get Shaw within a few weeks tops.

    whether you like the sport or not, you at least have to respect the fact that hockey is pretty much the only sport left that is not full of greedy, arrogant, primadonnas and the players actually care more about the sport than the money. hockey players are generally legit bullVeterans Committee. explain. yes they get paid a lot and some of them are dbags, but they all care about the sport before anything else. Explain where you're getting this child-like fantasy from.

    Randle didn't commit anywhere yet did he? no, but i'm assuming abrams snagged the schollie and randle will now be going to ku. just a hunch. I thought we still wanted him. Go for the 2 pg thing again. I know the main priorities are Shaw and Blackshear, but then we still have what 2 more rides. Yep 4 remaining for 2011, 5 total through 2012(assuming Simpson redshirts this year). I'd be pretty surprised if they don't over-recruit by at least one for 2012 with Richmond or Head possibly being 2 and done, or one of the trio for next year being gone for one reason or another. And how giddy is Stan Simpson that he's gonna get to be on that team(and probably play a pretty important role) in '11-'12

    To be fair, this is kinda a big deal. I mean he is really throwing Kelvin under the bs here. I know coach wanted them to stop doing drugs, but not if it meant us not winning games. Also am I the only one who thinks this is more than just pot? I doubt very much that Eric would have thought pot was such a big deal. I remember a lot of rumors of coke use with Ellis and that crew last year. Coke has made a big return the last few years with college kids. It's not just college kids. Amazing how many guys who I went to high school with show up at the bars around holiday time weighing a solid 140.

To be fair, our team didn't have a hell of a lot of camaraderie last year either. Though I guess going 16-19 played its part(which obviously wouldn't have been the case with Gordon.
