  1. We couldn't be playing any more lethargically.
  2. Lazy [expletive] rebounding.
  3. MAKE A DAMN SHOT TRENT
  4. Don't [expletive] praise Jim Burr. The guy's a clown.
  5. Hmmmm Lav. I wonder why Gonzaga is starting to hit their stride. What could possibly be the reason???
  6. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/SDN/SDN200806020.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/FLO/FLO200808150.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200808210.shtml Three games in which Zambrano's offense contributed to a run, and the Cubs won by one. Wait, in the first game you posted he puts the Cubs behind by three because of his lack of self control, and in the second game he puts the Cubs in a 5-1 hole because of his pitching. I'd still rather have Z the good pitcher over Z the hitter. Is it your belief that Z's good hitting is detracting from his pitching? So now Zambrano's hitting doesn't count if he pitches poorly, cause he's supposed to be a good pitcher, and his hitting obviously doesn't count if he pitches well cause who cares, they were gonna win anyway? No. It's my belief that Z had an extraordinary year with the bat and it would be more comforting to know he could control games more with his arm than having to depend on his bat. Is that so odd? Nope, and I admit I came in late to the conversation, but whether he's getting it done with his bat, his pitching, or his fielding, I don't care, as long as he gets it done. The point (from what I jumped into the middle of) was that Z gets underrated because nobody ever looks at a pitcher's hitting when considering how valuable he is.
  7. Dear ESPN, NOBODY [expletive] CARES
  8. We win tonight, I'm back to chugging the kool-aid.
  9. Tough loss for Penn St. Their nonconference resume is probably the worst of the Big 10 tourney contenders, so they're going to need a better record than the others. It's not like they're sunk, they're 6-4 and have 4 home games left. Win those plus tourney game and they probably squeak in. Win those and at Iowa and they should be in no matter what. No 11-7 Big Ten team is getting left out this year.
  10. Rice. You from the area? My only point here is it seems as much as their is the perception of irrational Murton love, there's the same amount of irrational Murton hate.(Same with Pie, Cedeno, pretty much every young guy sans Soto, cause seriously it's Geovany Soto) Maybe it's just people sick of hearing how he should've been playing only to see him not be anything special when he got some time, but he's a major league hitter and was stuck in the wrongplace in a success cycle/wrong franchise for developing a hitter.
  11. There aren't really any good shots of it on youtube, but the clip I'm watching reminds me of the boxing match in Snake Eyes.(at least the way it looked in the trailer, never saw the movie) I seriously do not see any contact.
  12. You probably aren't going to get that from him again but, whatever, I'm done with Matt Murton. I've had too many of these discussions about how he just needs the right situation etc. I hope he's found it. I know you said you're done but maybe another Murton hater can chime in. What is it about his '08 that causes you to think he can't replicate his '07? What is it about his '08 that causes the other guy to ignore the rest of his major and minor league career and say that he doesn't deserve a shot(at what I'm not sure...doesn't deserve a ST invite? doesn't deserve a bench spot? Doesn't deserve a starting role on a non-terrible team, fine, but it's not like the guy is Joey Gathright.
  13. What you think we have 3 mediocre minor leaguers lying around?

  15. Aren't those backloaded contracts obstructive to us fielding a more competitive team this year?
  16. With all due respect to Hosak and you, Dew, Tennessee deserves a better "coach" the Lane Kiffin. This kid, this joke of a coach has been so unprofessional since taking over at Tennessee, that it should be embarrassing Vols fans. I'm sorry dew, don't take this the wrong way, but I hope Alabama/UF/GA and LSU strings up Kiffin on the scoreboard. Lane Kiffin needs to learn some lessons about humility. And pissing off the powers of the SEC is NEVER a good thing for your career. Good fans like you and Hosak deserve a much better representation of the university then Lane Kiffin. Don't you mean CLK? I don't think I can express how disappointed I was when I saw this joke was taken. I think it should've been retired after my Urban Meyer one.
  17. i saw this today when i was at the gym and this was my same thought. Give him a 2-year, 12-15 million dollar deal. Pay him a small portion this year to rehab, and then the rest next year. If he struggles in 2010, oh well, it's just a one-year pill you swallow. If he hits it big, he gets paid and gets to go for a big deal in 2011 12-15M seems too much for a guy who could be throwing his first pitches next year. 2/10.
  18. He got ~250 PAs in '07 in the 4th OF role and put up 281/352/438. You aren't getting much better out of a 4th OF
  19. .277 BA .345 OBP .423 SLG .768 OPS at Sacramento with 1 HR and 13 RBIs .298 BA .397 OBP .382 SLG .779 OPS at Iowa with 1 HR and 15 RBIs 2 home runs in the minor leagues for a corner outfielder.......... it's kinda amazing that he's still getting chances at this point. Probably because people aren't basing everything off of last year alone. Cause to do so would be really stupid. 28 HR's in 900 career at bats... still not good for a corner outfielder. So ~18 or 19 over a full season. Coupled with the ability to take a walk, it's not a wonder he's getting chances at all. He's never going to be a star corner OF, but what exactly separates Murton from Jose Guillen or comparable other fringe starting OFs in the majors? He's ideal as a 4th OF off the bench.

  21. Yeah, thanks for finally doing something Missouri. Between this and Clemson embarrassing Duke on national TV, it was a very good off day for Illinois. (Yes, it's always about Illinois.)
  22. Add MSU following their depantsing of Minnesota. 17-26 remain.
  23. STORM THE COURT!!
  24. Chris Kramer's mom seems like the type of mom that would save her kid from getting beat up and then started challenging the bully to a fight and be dead serious about it.
