Texas isn't on it because the Big 12 is bad and their remaining schedule has 3 sure victories on it. Exile nailed what I was talking about with Davidson. Their resume is loads better than last year's and they would've been solidly in as an at large last year. And again, my point isn't that Davidson can lose 3 games and be in while MSU can't. My point is that there's pretty much no chance Davidson loses more than one game until the tournament. Pomeroy gives them better than 75% chance of finishing with 0.

Very true. The Cubs dominated the playoffs last year, so why would they even think about improving the team? Perhaps they should've actually improved the team if that was their thinking.

My point is Davidson is playing nothing but awful teams the rest of the way. They'd have to lose at least 3 of those games to miss out on being an at large. The chances of them losing 3 games the rest of the way is pretty much the chances that Stephon Curry gets in a really bad car accident. And even then, it's unlikely.

Iowa could make the NIT with a bit of a run (won't happen) but their shot at the NCAA's is the BTT. I'd say they need at least 18 wins(including a BTT win) for an NIT berth. I'm having a hard time finding 5 regular season wins out there. @IU, NU, and UM are reasonable. After that it looks like a few longshots. Wisky has been bad lately, but Kohl is still Kohl. OSU hasn't looked great without Lighty, but he has an outside chance of being back by March 3rd, and they'll likely be playing for their tourney lives. With Iowa's offense, an upset is never out of the picture if they get hot from 3, but the flipside is they can be beat by worse teams if the opposite happens.

I've got 16 teams as locks barring nuclear holocaust. Duke Wake UNC UConn Pitt Louisville Marquette Gonzaga Memphis UCLA Oklahoma Xavier Kansas Clemson Butler Davidson This isn't to say they're in unless they lose every game the rest of the way, but they aren't missing the tourney unless they lose a hell of a lot of games that they shouldn't. 18-27 at large bids remain.

No, he has them at 4-5 down the stretch. He has 3 games at better than 50% shots. I think 22 wins gets any Big Ten team in.

He just traded a reliever who spent half the year in AAA and makes over a million dollars for two players who were Top 30 prospects a year ago. I think Guzman can replace Wuertz Because the manager inexplicably hated him while he didn't mind throwing crappy Howry out there every day. Completely meaningless since they have sucked throughout their minor league careers and are not rated now. It's pretty obvious that Lou hates pitchers that don't throw strikes. Whether you agree with it or not, I think it's pretty easy to see why Lou didn't like to use him. And part of the reason they're not ranked this year is because the A's system is so good. Both of them would have a good chance of making our top 30, and I can only imagine the reaction if Hendry traded two top 30 for an average reliever making over a million dollars with Wuertz's peripherals last year. People were up in arms enough over trading worthless Cedeno for Heilman. Being the 29th best prospect in a #1 system doesn't mean that much. And the As aren't a #1 system.

Lou's handling of Hill was similar to his awful handling of Pie. Except Hill had already been rumored to be fragile, so it was even worse.

I'm sure warm weather cities would be excited to have less home games while people are on summer break. i'm sure the Marlins would like fewer home games when it's 95 degrees with 95% humidity Quick glance has them drawing better in the summer than April. so 7000 fans instead of 2500? every team draws better in the summer than April (unless they're on a Cleveland-esque home sellout streak) Yeah, that's exactly my point. -

And Pittsburgh's great D couldn't handle Arizona's great O in the 4th quarter. Arizona stomped Pittsburgh's defense, and won because Arizona's offense was too incompetent to tackle the fatass punk on the interception. Arizona's mediocre defense gave up less points than Pittsburgh's defense wins championships defense.

Pittsburgh's defense was the one that choked this game away in the 4th quarter. They were bailed out by their offense.

Come on guys there could be an update on Robbie Hummel's back brace and we just cannot miss that. After all he's going to make us all look so stupid. I want to hear more claims about Hummel not being at practice since December. Claim came from Brent Musburger who said Painter told him that. Brent Musberger is 88 years old, never assume he got the story right. Especially one so far-fetched. Brent Musberger is as trustworthy a pbp as there is and when he says Painter told me that it seems honest enough. He didn't say I heard or the students were telling me. Most likely its that Hummel hasn't been able to do a full practice since January. I already linked earlier in this thread that Hummel was practicing in January. I love Musberger cause he's a Big Ten homer, but he's old and rarely gets the story right.

Yeah, but you know....when it came down to crunch time, and the Cardinals needed a big stop, that shaky defense they have just couldn't get it done for them. That's true but they had already had to come up big too many times before then. Crunch time is at the end. Also, Pitt's offense was 22nd overall, 17th in passing this year. It's not like they were trying to defend Joe Montana and Jerry Rice out there. If you are going to argue the Cards' defense earlier in the game, then what about how Pitt shut down the Cards for the first 2 1/2 quarters? The Cards were scoring 30 points in the playoffs per game. Pitt's defense kept them below that threshold yesterday. Defense played a large role yesterday, as it usually does. Wait, you weren't being sarcastic ealier?

My understanding is this.....Reid's visit to GA was pretty solid, nothing noteworthy. Greg Reid will be a battle between Bama and GA. Right now I would say GA 52% Alabama 48% with FSU all but eliminated. I'll tell you what, Red - you're a typical delusional Bama fan who thinks the world revolves around the grave of Bear Bryant. So let's make this interesting. If Reid selects Bama, I'll never post here again. But if Reid selects FSU, you never post here again. And if he selects UGA, well, that's an out for each of us. Do you care to put your "money" where your mouth is? THAT is how confident I feel about the info I have received re: Greg Reid. Well that's not really fair. If CNS decides he doesn't want Reid, which WOULD BE THE CASE if he doesn't come to Bama, RedFlash can't be faulted for Alabama not wanting an inferior player.
