  1. I remember 1908 from the PSD days as well! I jumped ship over here when PSD was doing Yagyu dirty and never went back. Welcome. FWIW, I've found this place has way fewer insufferable posters than PSD did. Yeah, definitely looks like TJS. Heal him up and get him in the lab. That's a fantastic gamble for zero overslot dollars. Sanders was not somebody I penciled in overslot money for. It wasn't much, but certainly interesting. But that is easily made up by none of Moore/Brown/Flanagan/Bowser taking any overslot. I think Moore and Bowser probably should have gone back to school (unless they also have injuries I don't know about) but you won't hear me complain.

  3. Same. Didn’t think they could get that one done. Great news.
  4. Completely agree with you, but the article DID mention both Stroman and Bellinger. You package them together and a top 50ish prospect is well within reach.
  5. It’s all good. Cubs ended up with Strumpf in the 2nd and went way overslot on Hearn later on. Both guys well outside the top 20 in the system after 4 years. Pretty awesome. Sigh.
  6. Same. I was more dismayed that they passed on Brooks Lee rather than being down on Horton, but I also need to eat a bunch of crow early on.
  7. As expected. Nice to get it done so quickly so he could theoretically get into games early.
  8. @Brock Beauchamp Jefferson Rojas absolutely needs to be added. B.J. Murray and Drew Gray have a good argument as well.
  9. Haven't had a BA subscription in years, but do they detail how the Nationals pick would work? Do they get placed in the lottery and then automatically get pushed to pick 11 if their pick was in the top 10, with all the other teams moving up a spot?
  10. He was talking about Sanders, not Wiggins. I made the same goof. Sanders can throw strikes, it's just that he's been pretty hittable when he does. He's a big dude and it's not hard to imagine the Cubs being able to take his fastball from 92-94 up to 94-96 to play with his good changeup and help him develop the slider.
  11. I'm with you. As I said, I didn't like the pick at all. Would have been easier to stomach if he came with a bigger underslot deal, but it is what it is. Hopefully this pick had the Carter Hawkins stamp of approval. He seems to really know his pitching.
  12. I really hated that pick, but I have to remember that Wiggins supposedly was terrific in fall ball. So much so that Van Horn tabbed him as the Friday Night Starter for this past season before he blew his elbow. Van Horn wouldn't put the 2022 version of Wiggins in his Friday Night spot. Edit: I apparently can't read and mixed up Sanders and Wiggins. Nothing to see here. Carry on.
  13. I would say the current state of the system seems about where it should be. Only real big faller is Davis. Horton went meteoric. Rojas and Ballesteros jumped up a bit. None of the rest really gave us any reason to be overly concerned or overly excited just yet.
  14. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him get more than Rosario.
  15. 20th and final Round - Drew Bowser, 3B - Stanford Bowser was a top 100 type prospect coming out of HS in 2020. Big time power. Big time swing and miss. Has been solid but hasn't lived up to the hype at Stanford. Seems like a guy that would bet on himself and his tools to go back to school for one more year.
  16. 19th Round - Nick Dean, RHP - Maryland Couldn't find much about him other than he, like so many others in this draft, dealt with injuries. Supposedly has a really good changeup. Below average fastball.
  17. 18th Round - Brian Kalmer, 1B/3B - Gonzaga Played at 3 different colleges in his 4 years. Big ISOs his past 2 years to go along with big K rates.
  18. Can't imagine he signs, given how good he looked as a Freshman and how bad of a year he just had.
  19. 14th Round - Grayson Moore, RHP - Vandy Strictly a reliever in college. Another Cape performer who was really good last summer.
  20. 12th Round - Carter Trice, 2B - NC State I got nothing on him other than his stats. Transferred from Old Dominion. Strikes out a ton. Was pretty terrible on the Cape last summer in a week and a half worth of games. Hit for nice power at Old Dominion.
  21. Zyhir Hope, HS OFer is the 11th rounder. Unranked by MLB. Prospects Live has him 137th in the draft. Says he has power/speed combo with CF defense.
