  1. Same. He's easily my least favorite of the names being bandied about. He swung a wet noodle in nearly 200 PAs on the Cape. He probably won't be there, and the K's are horrendous, but Jace Laviolette would be fun as hell.
  2. Would love to see Quentin Young in the 2nd, but he's probably not there.
  3. He and Triantos seem like guys the A's would like in a Mason Miller trade as well.
  4. Ballesteros bomb #2. We successfully reverse-jinxed him by talking about his power.
  5. Ballesteros is still Baby Panda for me. Such an easy comp, given the bodies, but the bats aren't all that disimilar. Tons of contact. Decent if unspectacular walk rates. Middling power. Sandoval had 2 really good MLB seasons, and it's no coincidence that they were the years he hit 25 and 23 bombs. Never hit over 16 in any other year.
  6. Yeah, it's clearly a draft where the braintrust does not agree at all with the public rankings. I wonder if Southisene is going to be taking a bunch of the overslot funds. Tennessee just won the NC and I could see it costing a fair bit to buy him out.
  7. I was going to say the same thing, and add that he doesn't look like a guy who would take underslot. Cubs really do love them some Cape Cod performers.
  8. Hunter Carns and Chase Harlan are both available and were names linked to the Cubs leading up to the draft.
  9. Haven’t posted much at all lately, but I’ve been following from a distance. I don’t see many “likely” pick options that I would hate this year. Honeycutt scares me, but you can’t argue the upside if he could put it together.
  10. Was about to say that as well. Was at 63 pitches through 3. Kid gloves coming off.
  11. I love that they sent Horton back out for the 3rd after that abysmal 2nd inning. 1-2-3 with 3 Ks.
  12. Wheels fall off for Horton in 2nd. Can’t throw a strike to save his life.
  13. Horton walks the first AAA hitter he faces, then gets the next 3 with a K. Working right around 93. K was on a nasty slider
  14. I’m waiting for the typical ACL box score nonsense and the correction that it wasn’t Mule in inning 2 or something.
  15. Mule gets the opener for the ACL.
  16. Eff it. See if Oakland would take their choice of 2 from the Alcantara/Ballesteros/Triantos group as the main return for Mason Miller.
  17. This MFer is going full Kerry Wood. 15 Ks through 6
  18. Aliendo doubles up on bombs too! Don’t remember the last time I’ve seen 3 teammates all hit multiple bombs in the same game. Maybe never.
  19. Alcantara bomb #2 of the game. He’s red hot after that horrific start.
  20. Rosario pulled from today’s game and promoted, per AZPhil. Makes that MB squad much more watchable.
  21. I know Carico is on the IL, but did we ever hear what the injury was? I seem to recall that it wasn’t considered serious but nothing else.
  22. And Marcus Giles took out Prior. Maybe that's why I subconsciously root against the Braves.
  23. You forget about Bryzzo so quickly?
