  1. Kepley seems exactly like a Brewers OFer. Small, slap-hitting guy who can go get the ball but doesn’t have a great throwing arm. Trying to mimic their weird voodoo?
  2. You don’t agree with him that the Rockies should push Holliday to the bigs to play for a 60 win team?
  3. I would love Young. I think Raisin posted a blurb awhile ago that the Dodgers were looking hard at him at the end of the 1st. He seems like a good bet to be a comp pick to me.
  4. I don’t remember what Shaw or Cam smith’s chase rates were in college, but it just seems weird to me that Aloy keeps getting linked to the Cubs with that ugly chase rate.
  5. I am a fan of his, honestly. Much more than Conrad. I wonder if Fischer comes into play at all as well.
  6. Same. He's easily my least favorite of the names being bandied about. He swung a wet noodle in nearly 200 PAs on the Cape. He probably won't be there, and the K's are horrendous, but Jace Laviolette would be fun as hell.
  7. Would love to see Quentin Young in the 2nd, but he's probably not there.
  8. He and Triantos seem like guys the A's would like in a Mason Miller trade as well.
  9. Ballesteros bomb #2. We successfully reverse-jinxed him by talking about his power.
  10. Ballesteros is still Baby Panda for me. Such an easy comp, given the bodies, but the bats aren't all that disimilar. Tons of contact. Decent if unspectacular walk rates. Middling power. Sandoval had 2 really good MLB seasons, and it's no coincidence that they were the years he hit 25 and 23 bombs. Never hit over 16 in any other year.
  11. Yeah, it's clearly a draft where the braintrust does not agree at all with the public rankings. I wonder if Southisene is going to be taking a bunch of the overslot funds. Tennessee just won the NC and I could see it costing a fair bit to buy him out.
  12. I was going to say the same thing, and add that he doesn't look like a guy who would take underslot. Cubs really do love them some Cape Cod performers.
  13. Hunter Carns and Chase Harlan are both available and were names linked to the Cubs leading up to the draft.
  14. Haven’t posted much at all lately, but I’ve been following from a distance. I don’t see many “likely” pick options that I would hate this year. Honeycutt scares me, but you can’t argue the upside if he could put it together.
  15. Was about to say that as well. Was at 63 pitches through 3. Kid gloves coming off.
