  1. hahahaha
  2. Cole Hamels did some bush league crap. It wasn't [expletive] old school.
  3. The Dodgers, Nationals, Blue Jays, Athletics, Brewers, Giants...I guess I will stop there. I have a feeling they will send Middlebrooks down pretty soon, but there would be lots of destinations for Youk if he is on the block. Sorry, all of that is under the assumption he would be manning first/DH where appropriate.
  4. Thank you for the logic CubColtPacer. You don't move Rizzo off of first because LaHair the early 2012 masher is presently camped there. Now if Rizzo sucked pretty hard at first, then I could understand trying him in the outfield.
  5. What a sad state of affairs with that t-shirt.
  6. Below average receiver? Where is that coming from?
  7. I agree. Trading Garza pushes back our chances for contending by another 2 years and I'm tired of waiting. Good lord. Where do you guys come up with these contending projections?
  8. I figured it was implied that there would be more to the deal than Jacob and Nick, which is a nice starting point. The only problem with that starting point is Detroit's farm system which is awfully thin.
  9. Hopefully Dempster's nice and healthy by then. Garza to Detroit makes a ton of sense, which is probably why it won't happen. No it doesn't. They don't have anything worth giving him up for, especially with Turner's shoulder issues. Now, if they want to toss us something of value for Dempster, sure. I think Turner is okay now, no? Besides, a package of Turner and Nick Castellanos would be dreamy. And it does, from Detroit's perspective, make a ton of sense. I am not saying Garza would be able to net that package, but we will see. I would really rather trade with Texas or Toronto, but Garza will only give the team 1 and a half years of service time, so asking for their four top prospects is a little crazy town.

  11. As much as I would love an ace, I agree. Not every team has one, not even close. Plus, you don't have to have one to win the whole damn thing. A solid rotation with at least a few power pitchers will do the trick. Oh and defense, defense, defense. I think Theo understands this, but Detroit definitely has a stupid blind spot on pretty much both counts.
  12. When asked about Concepcion, Frank Zappa responded, "Millions of dollars."
  13. Wait and see if a team will be desperate enough to overpay. There is no harm in waiting a little while longer. A nice trade would greatly benefit the Cubs.
  14. All of these hopeful reasons to win are why they will lose tonight.
  15. I love webdesign.org. Hold up, is that Jim Edmonds?
  16. Fly away Byrd. Now Boston gets to sit Darnell .087.
  17. I think they lose 100 no matter what. There isn't enough offense on this team. The pitching overall is fairly good, but if you can't hit and score runs you aren't going to win often. If Dempster is hurt for a period of time things are really going to be bleak. The Cubs need him in the rotation to obviously win games, but they also need him there for trade bait. I don't think the pitching is "fairly good" myself. This team is brutal. Exactly. I am pretty sure the Cubs have the worst bullpen in the majors.
  18. I really hope the Cubs can pull off the miracle of out sucking the Astros.
  19. They should just add a piece to the outfield statue depicting a dueling sword fight between Ozzie and Fidel.
