  1. I am thinking Bradley would make me twenty times happier than Skaggs. If that happens, I am going to probably lose my voice from screaming.
  2. If the Diamondbacks are working on something big, I would place my bets on King Felix.
  3. 2. Allen Webster (RHP) Webster was a later round pick out of a North Carolina high school and he signed for only $20,000 in 2008. He could reach the big leagues in 2012 despite some struggles at Double-A in 2011. His fastball ranges from 90-94 mph with plus sink and he can reach back for 96 and 97 mph when he needs it. While his change-up earns grades as his best pitch at times, some scouts really like his slider and curveball as well. He has shown solid command in the past though it still comes and goes throughout his starts. When everything is working properly Webster shows the potential of a number two starter with both plenty of ground balls and strikeouts.
  4. Nah, it will be better than Gould. Dempster didn't [expletive] it all up that much.
  5. Here's to hoping Dempster walks a boat load and Lilly slams his glove again during the playoffs. It would really make me smile when thinking about 2008.
  6. If Dempster goes to the Nationals, it would force me to still root for him. That [expletive].
  7. James Shields is a hot pile of garbage. No thanks.
  8. If we don't make some big trades now, I really don't see how we can without some big free agent signings or trade prospects for big league players I really don't see how we can. The only help that we have coming from our farm in the next year or two is Vitters, Jackson, and Lake, as well as some relievers, none of whom are sure things by any means. Actually contend? Next season, meaning 2013. That is with or without Garza. Hopefully it is without. Get on board everyone, this vehicle is beginning to make its ascent.     Yeah, that wasn't a joke. Frankly, folks on here that don't understand the direction this organization is heading in baffle me. It is glaringly obvious at this point. Look around baseball right now folks. Please stop saying the Cubs have to blow a load of cheese to get better next season. It simply isn't true. I am not saying to not spend money, but splurging because we haven't done so yet isn't the answer at all. The Cubs will be a better ball club next season, and even better the season after that. It is onward and upward from here. If you can't see that, or think I am cracking a big fat one, then I am sorry.
  9. It sounds like you have a case of the "I don't know where you are taking this Cubs train Theo" blues.

  11. I wouldn't get too worried about the 12.5 with Liriano. He would have to put on one of the most dominant stretches in baseball history to get a deal over 10 mil. per next season.
  12. If you like losing games, sure. Exactly, because that is the only way to conceivably look at it.
  13. Another potential Dempster alternative off the table to an under the radar team. Which is a good thing because the White Sox weren't going to give us anything to get all hot and bothered about.
  14. Yeah, that system is very top heavy, to say the least. I think Nick Delmonico could be a nice bat for them.
  15. Every indication, including talking an extension with him? That felt more like positioning than a plausible and likely scenario.
  16. He is youngish talent. He is not young cost controlled talent.
