  1. You are dragging Fugazi in on this as well? Oh, hell no!
  2. As cool as last night's game was, there is no way the lucky charm red birds are losing this game.
  3. Baez is pretty much our best prospect, and a potential stud house. And I was about to say no way until I looked at Anderson's contract. Yes, sign me up.
  4. Very nice move for Oakland.
  5. I am so amped to see Chipper go 3/3 with 5 HRs and 12 RBI.
  6. Wait a second. All the teams with the worse record get the first two games at home? Am I reading the above schedule correctly? Pretty terrible.
  7. Err...the lower seeds don't have home field advantage. It definitely could be argued that they do.
  8. Darvish is going to tank cementing the Rangers as the lovable Buffalo Bills of baseball. Go Athletics! Go Braves! Go Chipper!
  9. Taking a dive wasn't a bad thing.
  10. That LaHair home run is so fitting today. hahaha
  11. Sveum is a hoss. A+
  12. That line is better than dirty porn.
  13. Reid Brignac just surprised the [expletive] out of me.
  14. I like the blurb on MLBTR that says the talk all started when the Dodgers called Lucchino. Once again, one is left to wonder how much authority the Boston GM actually possesses.
  15. 2007 in Miami. Ted Lilly on the bump, and the Cubs got nickel and dimed. There was a little rain during the game producing a double rainbow. I was there with my ex. It was actually pretty awesome. I still haven't seen them win a game in person.
  16. Let him pitch in the playoffs. It doesn't happen every year.
  17. Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer said Monday that Matt Garza (elbow) will likely remain with the team in 2013. "He's likely to be a member of the Cubs in 2013," said Joyer. "And we're excited to have him. (Trading him) is the last thing we're thinking of. We're just trying to get this guy healthy." Garza is out indefinitely with stress reaction in the back of his elbow. The Cubs haven't ruled him out for the rest of the season, but he won't pick up a baseball for a couple of weeks. We're guessing the Cubs would have shopped him pretty aggressively leading up to the trade deadline if he was healthy, but they may now have to wait until next season to shop him.
  18. Garza to Arizona for Corbin and Pollock Thanks TT, but ugh. If that's the best we can do, I gotta admit, I'd change my tune completely on what to do with him. But, it's Bowden and I think he's off on value here. Either add Chafin or replace Corbin with Skaggs, Bradley or Bauer and we'll talk. If there is any merit to that rumor, the trade didn't happen because Arizona wasn't willing to swing a proper package for Garza. His value is higher than that, and it will be higher than that in a few months. I have a feeling teams were low balling the crap out of Garza because of the injury.
  19. Well, consider me pumped about Baez. I will be able to get to see this kid on the 21st. YAY :yahoo:
  20. Cespedes is the only woulda shoulda coulda moment for me personally. I still feel the monies invested in Darvish will start to look bad as soon as next season.
  21. No? Garza is pretty solid though. Where does he fall then Kyle?
  22. There is no excuse for a team with the resources of the Cubs to purposefully try to be terrible to improve their team. Theo even acknowledges that with the new CBA the only advantage is teams that scout better(or as you term "draft better"). How are they purposefully trying to be terrible?
  23. that makes no sense Really, what part? implying he was a hendry fan for no reason. i also think you are acting like bradley is some historic prospect or something. There was a reason for the implication, it was just a jerkish reason. I don't see how I have treated Bradley as anything other than a very high upside arm that would be a great get for one year of Garza.
