  1. "He's President of Baseball Operations, but he plays no part in terrible decisions and has no responsibility for poor outcomes that befell the organization he runs. That Zambrano trade did royally suck the big one though." This is a fun game. What did he do wrong exactly? We have a difference of opinion on Zambrano. He was gone before Theo got here, and I thought that was pretty damn obvious. Was there risk involved in waiting to deal Garza as late as possible this season? Of course, but I don't see how isn't simply part of the game. I am guessing you are blaming Theo for Dempster? I wouldn't and won't do that, but you are free to your own opinions.
  2. Theo sucks guys. It's all his fault. Blah blah blah. I like Rizzo though.
  3. This isn't a blame type situation right now. The only cloudy situation is Dempster.
  4. It does reduce his value. That really can't be argued.
  5. We all better hope so because that is all we have right now. Hopefully Garza pitches well in the next few months and rides out 2012 on a strong note. That is the only way a package will match what we should have and now won't receive at this moment. I still don't understand why people are happy that we are losing out on the ability to trade replaceable talent for prospects. I am especially bewildered when you factor in a trade deadline ripe with uncertainty because it is the first deadline since the new CBA.
  6. Yay. What a bust this deadline has been. I wish we flipped him during the off season.
  7. Buckle up guys. It is going to be a tense couple of days.
  8. Number one pick in fantasy drafts next season, or at least, that is where I will take him. Seriously though, this kid just drips special sauce. I am a member of the Mike Trout fan club.
  9. He couldn't file any grievances if they broke his fingers. Got to do it while he is sleeping.
  10. Contract or control? Fair enough, he's under control. They can still trade him this offseason, next trade deadline or even extend and keep him. The amount of concern over Garza possibly not being traded seems misplaced. I think the concern is they end this trading deadline with no new longterm assets brought into the team when the only thing we've been able to look forward to in this god awful season has been the seemingly inevitable acquisition of top prospects. Garza was always the guy who could get them the most while Dempster was the guy who had to go. Just when it looked like they could get more than expected for Dempster, clearing the way for a bigger market for Garza, it all went to hell. It's just just about Garza not being traded, but rather nobody of value being acquired - potentially. Exactly. Mission seemingly in failure mode. Not really a good thing.
  11. I honestly wonder in terms of prospects, would the half year extra actually mean? To a contender it means more. Some strange pulse inside me still thinks the Royals could be where Garza ends up.
  12. The Dodgers are about to get Garza or Dempster next. Magic Johnson indeed.
  13. I think it is because he spits profusely.
  14. So, Dempster recently joined the pen 15 club. Shame.
  15. Personal speculation: Dempster is a Brave in t-minus two hours.
  16. I am guessing Baker would have some appeal, unless it is a bullpen arm.
  17. Delgado!? Yes, yes, yes, yes, and more yes! Man, I really hope we can ship Garza out of town.
