  1. Hands down, why? They haven't played anybody to indicate that they're the better team and there's the whole team speed and talent thing too. I'm not saying they won't win, they may. I don't think they will, but what makes you think they are the better team? Using rational reasoning, they are from Louisiana so their IQ must be a bit lower. They get ranked because of that Katrina sympathy thing. You know I am just trying to find thing to tick off LSU fans. I lived in Ohio and I hated OSU but I like their coach and other than WT A and M coach there is probably not a better coach for yng developing athletes. Other than that I will admit I am a HUB user. huh?
  2. why oh why did i bench eli manning for the finals in fantasy football. :(
  3. so if a person has a 0.08 and kills another driver, does he deserve empathy then? yes, because .08 should not be the legal limit just because someone thinks they aren't impaired doesn't mean that they aren't. (i think that's a quadruple negative so that might have the opposite meaning i intended)

  5. son of a bitch. i don't know whether to start romo for my fantasy football finals or not.
  6. Probably not. But he also wouldn't if he were changing the song on his Ipod, or grabbing something out of his glove box, or checking out the girl in the car next to him, etc, etc. Everyone does something that distracts them from the road every single time they drive somewhere. Not everyone is a loser that gets drunk and kills someone though. you're a loser if you're talking on your cell phone and you hit someone and kill them, though. you're also far, far less likely to kill someone because you're talking on your cell phone than you are because you're driving drunk. http://unews.utah.edu/p/?r=062206-1 when you talk on a cell phone while driving, you're increasing the likelihood of injuring people around you. same as drunk driving. the degrees may be different, but it's still the same principle. you're being selfish and risking other people's lives when you pick up the cell phone while driving. i'm not trying to downplay what leyritz did. he did something horrible and awful and should be punished accordingly. i'm just surprised how people feel zero empathy towards him, when they themselves have very likely put the lives of other motorists in danger for selfish reasons. i'm not exempt from this, i use my cell phone all the time while driving. it's a habit i need to break.

  8. if jim leyritz was talking on his cell phone while driving and accidentally killed someone, would he get the same level of disgust?
  9. i'd hate to sound like i'm lying, but i'd like to think that i'd try to be loyal to the team that drafted/scouted me. OK, Chicago DID NOT OFFER A CONTRACT to Mark. He was non-tendered. So, he should just not sign any contracts on the off chance that Chicago would re-sign him. Both sides need to agree to the contract and CHC did not offer him one. I, for one, do not blame Prior one bit and wish him the best of luck (outside of Cubs games). I don't think this has anything to do with "loyalty." In fact, I could argue that the Cubs gave up their loyalty to him by not offering a contract. i wasn't trying to take a shot at prior. i was just answering omar's question.
  10. are you in touch with anything at all?

  12. pitchers probably want to play in san diego and hitters probably would rather play in chicago. for obvious reasons.
  13. maybe barrett can be his personal catcher!
  14. I could still beat you up. that still doesn't change the fact that you'll die before me. Depends on how bad I beat you up! settle down before you have a stroke old man.
  15. I could still beat you up. that still doesn't change the fact that you'll die before me.
  16. all you old men need to quit whining.
  17. i'm in 4 leagues. i won 1, lost in the finals of 1, i'm currently in the finals in 1, and i lost in the 1st round of the playoffs in the last one.
  18. if they changed the name i'm sure everyone in the world would still call it wrigley field.
  19. i thought so taguchi was like 16 years old
  20. i don't know what all that means but meph posted it so i'm gonna have to agree 100%
  21. in fairness to lou, he did move jacque to center and murton to right, something i'm sure dusty never would have done. i wouldn't completely shut out the idea of lou trying derosa at ss. the only problem is, in his mind ryan theriot is a solid mlb shortstop, and he doesn't see that position as a hole on this team.
  22. oh, i thought you were being sarcastic in your previous post.
  23. stopped reading after i reached the word "groupthink".
  24. I recall late last summer even when Lilly was pitching very well, Rogers thought of him as a #3. And maybe that's accurate. well phil rogers is a moron. now, if rogers said we were a competent shortstop away from being the #1 nl team...
  25. i guess ted lilly and rich hill weren't 2 starterish enough.
