  1. let's just all agree on the facts a. milton bradley is a crazy person who says dumb things b. a lot of cubs fans are horrible with those 2 facts, the stories write themselves.
  2. i do like how sullivan thinks that batting average in day games = sabermetrics
  3. it's great if the cubs are good. but if the cubs suck and you stop watching them daily around june, then you wasted your money.
  4. While that's a viable option as far as what to do with Lee, who then plays first base in 2011 [and beyond]? they'll find someone. 1B isn't a hard position to fill.
  5. too bad alex rodriguez was awesome this last postseason, because cheryl berna-rod would be a perfect nickname.
  6. no

  8. LOL! :rotfl: Highway robbery. My 8 year old sister can throw a baseball farther than him. i'd bet a good amount of money that she couldn't I'll bet that I can throw a ball from CF to second faster than Damon can. if you can somehow get johnny damon to agree to this then you're on
  9. If every hockey game could be broadcast without commercial interruption, hockey could be the #1 sport in America. That game was so intense and amazing.
  10. LOL! :rotfl: Highway robbery. My 8 year old sister can throw a baseball farther than him. i'd bet a good amount of money that she couldn't
  11. i don't know what that means
  12. here's the proof you requested http://northsidebaseball.com/bridge/index.php?author_id=1395&sr=posts&rb_v=search
  13. that, or he's flattered that a fellow countryman and possible future hall of famer wants to wear that number in tribute to him. Really?!?! I must have missed some part of Vizquel's career that projects him as a future HOFer. That term is thrown own way too liberally, IMO. i wouldn't vote him in. but he was an excellent defender for many years, and he seems like the perfect type that the baseball writers would love to put him, especially to stick it to the guys who were hitting home runs in the steroid era.
  14. i think you forgot the "bad stuff happens to my team/great stuff happens to teams i hate" factor though.
  15. if aparicio doesn't care then why should anyone else? Of course he cares. But what's he gonna say? "Hey, I don't want to you to un-retire my number," "I think the Sox are disrespecting me by un-retiring my number," or something along those lines would be my first guess. Are you naive enough to believe that they did not talk about it and agree to their statement beforehand? Retiring a players # is the highest honor a team can bestow on a retired player, ergo the biggest slight to take it away...Luis has to be hurt and dissapointed. In SOME way the Sox made it worth his while to pretend otherwise. that, or he's flattered that a fellow countryman and possible future hall of famer wants to wear that number in tribute to him.
  16. that game was badass to see in person. and i was amazed/very impressed at how knowledgeable and into the game the blue jackets fans were. i thought the nhl in columbus wasn't popular, but the fans were pretty hardcore.
  17. if aparicio doesn't care then why should anyone else?
  18. i was will clark bitch
  19. Seriously, your posts in this (and many other threads) show what a miserable prick you are. Stop reading the politics threads and you'll think more of him. He's willing to set aside preconceptions and learn from wellthought out arguments when the subject isn't how much he hates republicans. Whut? Where have I ever even implied that I "hate Republicans?" haha. if i hated republicans then i'd have to hate pretty much my entire family.
  20. i see no reason why the cubs should be better than last year.
  21. call me crazy, but i don't think eddie murray getting in in 2003 was outrageous
  22. atonement is actually really good.
  23. peyton manning being awesome at football has a lot more to do with the game than katrina or who dat. Depends on how you look at it. Katrina is why Brees signed with New Orleans and still serves as the inspiration for a lot of players. No, because of Katrina, Brees wanted to play for the Dolphins. They were his first choice because of how uncertain the Saints' future was. You're wrong about everything you said here. actually he's the football know it all, in case you haven't heard. i wouldn't second guess him.
