  1. Atleast we do not have to worry about Almora missing time for an ingrown toe nail.
  2. Vitters - rakes in Spring and is starting LF majority of the season hitting .288/.331./462 and 16 HR's by years end. Olt has big spring but then can't hit enough to get promotion. Villanueva has huge start to season but is packages in a trade for a young close to majors pitcher. BJax struggles and gets claimed by another organization late in the year. Alcantara continues strong improvements and is starting at 2B by June 15th. Puts up a final season line of .276/352/.391 and steals 25 bags. Moved to CF Bryant rakes and is starting in RF July 1 Baez leads Cubs with 9 hrs in Spring, sparks huge national debate on whether they should let him come up now. Called up after June doesn't slow down. Lake is awful and gets demoted Rock Shoulders hits 28 hrs but strikes out 240 times! Geiger reaches AAA and continues to put up strong numbers without being very exciting Pierce Johnson stays in AAA and has an average season knocking him out of top 100 Cubs use Vogelbach, Villanueva and Geiger to Acquire a top pitching priospect. Shark agrees to 5 yr 75 Million extension. Soler has a massive season making him top 10 prospect. Cubs August 1st lineup Alcantara - 2B Castro - SS Rizzo - 1B Baez - 3B Bryant - RF Schierholtz/Vitters - LF Ruggiano/Sweeney - CF Welly/Kottaras - C
  3. I kind of see a little Ray Durham in Alcantara, maybe more speed slightly lower walk rate.
  4. This is strange how quickly everyone thinks the Cubs are getting him and nobody from the Cubs are denying the rumors..
  5. A source tells me that the cubs have reached out to Tanaka's representatives, family and friends. Apparently Tanaka prefers mascots over location and money preferring large fuzzy bears. Deal should be done soon!
  6. I wonder if he could be sold on the renovation, the new Wrigley experience and if they will provide insight in the TV potential and some of their plans. Other than a crapload of money they have to be planning a major schmoozing to out do the Yanks or potential West Coast suitors.
  7. Take it for what it is worth but I have a close friend in Minneapolis sports radio, he is stating that a source of his believes the twins are involved in Shark talks as well. Names are not out there but Minnesota views him as a high end #2 for them and are aggressively pursuing pitching. I don't claim to have sources or know what's happening but this is intriguing to say the least as this guy has done a lot of local events and charity with the Twins front office.
  8. Not even comparable. Sandoval is 50% panda.
  9. Went into last year with Ridley, Rice and Mathews but had Cutler as QB... Trade Ridley(early in the year), Celek for Rothlisberger and Vernon Davis Traded Rice for Gronk, Fred Jackson and RG3 The Rice trade helped me a lot last year and I just missed winning the championship. With RG3 and Gronk questionable and our league having early draft I chose to keep Cobb. Ended season: RG3 Gronk Mathews Montel Owens (late season pick up) Cobb Demaryous Ty Hilton / Fred Jackson as Flex. Vernon Davis/Denario Alexander/ Alex Green on bench
  10. I am sensing multiple Javy bombs tonight!
  11. this is how my team ends up after the draft. QB - Eli Manning, Andy Dalton I believe Eli bounces back quite a bit but also believe Dalton is a good match up play and had some big fantasy weeks last year. RB - Lamar Miller, David Wilson, Monte' Ball, Jonathon Franklin, Mark Ingram I got snubbed on some people I was targetting, a lot of "Ifs" here but pretty big potential, am I right? WR - Demaryous Thomas, Randall Cobb, Tavon Austin, Aaron Dobson(likely dropping due to recent news) Its a 2 Wide Receiver league so I feel good here, probably picking up Broyles instead of Dobson. I really like Austin as a backup/bye week fill in. TE - Witten, jared Cook Should be a consistent position for me. DEF - Green Bay Not pretty but generally puts up decent DEF numbers K - J. Tucker
  12. Non PPR Those will be the top RBs on the board. Many were kept on other teams from last season.
  13. My keepers are Demaryous Thomas and Randall Cobb. its the 8th pick in a 12 team standard draft. My strategy is to use my first 4 rounds to snag 3 of the 7 RB's - Reggie Bush, Demarco Murray, Sproles, Lamar Miller, Eddie Lacy, Monte Ball, LeVion Bell and grab a top 12 QB with the other pick. Am i thinking correctly here? I will later target a 3rd receiver in the Michael Floyd, Lance Moore Tier and aim for a backup RB of Daryl Richardson, Pierre Thomas type. Any suggestions?
  14. Almora 2-5 again and Vogelbach continues to hit and get on base. Any chance those 2 get a taste of Daytona this year?
  15. I still would rather trade Garza for Skaggs or something along those lines and keep Shark.
  16. Wait so is Barney still one of our core players?
  17. Was at Kane County games last night. Takeaways are that Vogelbach and Shoulders look like men among boys. Both are big men who have great approaches. Shoulders walk off was a line shot and he admired it like a star! He is built like a truck, more bottom heavy but I think he could draw more comps to Fielder if he keeps showing power. Talked to Vogelbach outside in between games. He said he plans on being in AA by end of year. Seemed confident but cool. Didn't see much from Amaya, Contreras or Hernandez but as a whole the team takes a lot of pitches! Scott looked good and was getting all ground balls, tough hitting weather though. Left mid game 2 as it was cold.
  18. Any chance Almora plays Friday night? I will be there! Cannot wait!
  19. Scrub you will love that park if you have not been. I lived in Fort Wayne and went to games all time. I was going to go to the whole series but had a last minute work meeting out of town. Headin to Kane County next Friday.
  20. I could see the Cubs retaining Garza if he comes back mid May and has a decent year but not great. I do believe they will go big after a pitcher or bat in trade and potentially be involved in a free agent bat. Potential trade targets could be Price, Bud Norris, Stanton, Headley, the Rockies could potentially entertain trading Cargo as well. Hart short term, Ellsbury and potentially Cano could be targets. I think 2015 is still the ideal division winning year but with the Wrigley field deal looking close, the potential TV deal in the near future, I think the Cubs are setting up to strike this off-season. I also think they need to. I could totally dig a rotation of Price, Shark, Garza, EJax, Wood/Villanueva next year.
  21. Took me 1 day to make my 1$ auction snag of Fujikawa a steal????? I know.. Noone cares.
  22. I think Shark is monitoring all of the crazy long term deals happening... He wants his.
  23. Reallllllllly want Shark out of the game.... I dont like 110 pitches on opening day even if he is beastly.
