  1. I would rather give up Carpenter if it means keeping Dolis. I can live with giving him up for Theo, I was kind of worried it would be Vitters because I still think he becomes a productive ML player.
  2. Vs RH DeJesus Castro Stewart Soto LaHair Soriano Byrd Cardenas Vs LH Byrd Castro Soriano Soto LaHair Baker Stewart DeJesus / Johnson / Sappelt Definitely not sexy any way you cut it. But improvements out of Castro, DeJesus returning to form and productions out of LaHair and Stewart could keep the team competitive if the pitching is much better(i believe it will be). My feels are Stewart and Volstad have their best seasons and LaHair puts up a decent OBP and solid power numbers.
  3. I'd take that bet. Even with Prince Fielder, there would be plenty of teams better than the Nats. Does this mean we'll lose every game to those teams too? Im going to say 1-2.
  4. Really wish there was audio out there somewhere from the Down on the Farm segment.
  5. Sori would be a strong DH in the NL East I would think for little money teams would be interested in his production versus certain pitchers: Vs Sabathia PA AB H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS SH SF IBB HBP GDP missG 46 39 13 2 0 6 10 6 9 .333 .435 .846 1.281 0 0 1 1 0 Jon Lester 6 6 3 0 0 0 1 0 3 .500 .500 .500 1.000 0 0 0 0 0 Tim Wakefield 50 44 13 2 0 4 7 4 6 .295 .360 .614 .974 0 1 0 1 0 He does hit fastballs well, hits lefties pretty well and with Price, Lester, Sabathia, Romero, Chen headlining rotations along with pitchers who throw large percentages of fastballs like Pineda, Morrow, guthrie... etc. Soriano if matched up correctly could do some damage in the AL East.
  6. Dammit Starlin.... Honestly though, these cases are so he said she said and taking the word of someone who gets so drunk they pass out at a man's apartment the first time they meet is pretty hard to do. Not to sound insensitive but anyone who was around the late night college parties and bar routines for years knows that Castro could possibly be the victim of a crazy person..... But he should definitely not being putting himself in these situations. If there is known physical evidence and he did do this than i do believe he should be punished accordingly.
  7. I will give this trade a chance before I judge it but first reaction was shocked the cubs are paying that much, but I do trust theo and jed enough to think there was not a better deal out there. Hard to blame them though as Z has killed his trade value by declining and acting like an ass.
  8. Wow the Nats are going to be really awesome very soon! They're still the 3rd or 4th best team in their division. Maybe, the Phillies are getting old offensively and are one mound injury away from not being the best team in the NL. The Braves should remain solid, Marlins will improve. But 2012-2013 will include a core of Strasburg, Desmond, Morse, Zimmerman(s), Gio Gonzalez, Storen, Harper, Ramos.... A lot of sick talent on that roster. If they do jump in on Fielder i think they could win that division.
  9. Wow the Nats are going to be really awesome very soon!
  10. I am all about getting Hamilton, I believe he may have more value to flip in another trade than keep. Seems like a lot of this trade has been leaked anyone think this is on purpose so theo can get another team to step up their offer? (Yankees, Padres?)
  11. I hate to part with Marshall but Wood definitely interests me, i do hope aleast one of the 2 prospects coming with is top 10. I think we will be very busy from here until Feb, this roster will look crazy different.
  12. General question, why does no getting Darvish mean the Cubs need to throw in the towel? Keep Garza, add pitching depth, sign Fielder and find an upgrade at 2B and this team can still win this division next year and be only 1-2 pieces away from being an excellent team in 2013.
  13. What was all this one and a million talk?
  14. Poop just late sorry! I will delete it!
  15. Volquez is going in the deal as well according to the Denver Post.
  16. Breaking news: Media has no clue who the favorie is. The Cubs are not tipping their hand at all, they are pointed out as the favorite / Prince's desired location. Two Boston area reporters(Gammons, Cafardo) state the Cubs either dont have money or are not ready to spend it. I definitely believe the Cubs are in heavy with Prince and feel leverage was starting to lean away from the Cubs with all of the rumors so Epstein floated the idea to Gammons and Cafardo the Cubs will not be in the race. Similar to Darvish, the only reason people believe Toronto is the leading the bids is because the Cubs have not let one thing slip.
  17. Also for some reason the mental image I had of Nick Cafardo was a young person. Not sure why I was surprised to find out he was a balding fat man. I do not trust old balding fat men, so I still believe we are in it.
  18. That probably has something to do with it. With baserunning and defense, that's a more than acceptable line for a bench spot. I made an all ex-cub prospect teamon MLB the show. Pie, Patterson and combined for 37 homers and 75 steals.................but each hit about .230
  19. I would have interest in the bold ones, otherwise let LaHair and Ridling battle it out (yikes).
  20. We should know who the winning bid is early this week correct? I still think Texas goes balls out for him. To me it feels like the Yankees are getting much more cautious with unknown pitching comodoties. I would definitely love to watch a rotation starting with Garza and Darvish next season though.
  21. I just have a hunch we are more likely to get Kuroda/Chen and Fielder, we probably won't even get Fielder(please fill up the rest of my glass!).
  22. I do agree with this, we need Quade to give him a new name. Stewey it is.
