  1. I would give up anything not named Brett Jackson. I think Wright could be a steal, his defense is not spectacular but he has great offensive ability. I would love a Jackson, Castro, Wright, Fielder top 4....
  2. Per MLBTR... Probably gives us an idea of what the Cubs would need to eat to trade some of their contracts. Z is definitely younger and better than Lowe and this point though.
  3. I think A-Ram is definitely gone. I could definitely see the Cubs spending that money on a gamble like Sizemore and a pither like Edwin Jackson/Maholm type. Im not sure the Cubs will be players for CJ Wilson as I think they will make a lot of solid moves grasping at high upside. These are the targets for 3B out of the organization I would like to see. if the Cubs dealt Byrd they could flip some mid prospects and package with a higher prospect for Headley. 1. Headley 2. Encarnacion 3. Stewart 4. Baker/Flaherty/DeWitt This does leave the cubs with immense payroll flexibility over the next couple of years. I could be excited for a lineup like this: Jackson Castro Headley Fielder Soto Sizemore Soriano Kelly Johnson/Aaron Hill/Barney
  4. Vitters, McNutt, Lake, Castillo, Rhee, Szczur
  5. I really do not think Fielder is that fat.... Just me.
  6. Dibs on the first Miami Heat photoshop. http://www.bleachernation.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/chicago-cubs-front-office-dream-team.jpg YES!
  7. I will follow this up with the idea of checking in on Shields, Danks, Liriano, Gio Gonzalez.
  8. I think there will be some low risk high reward moves made this offseason this is what I am thinking on the positive side with feelings that Demp, Aram, Zambrano, Pena, Byrd all go: CF Jackson SS Castro 1B Fielder RF Sizemore LF Soriano C Soto 2B Kelly Johnson 3B Encarnacion Bench: Castillo/Celevenger, Barney, Colvin, Baker, DeWitt SP Garza SP Edwin Jackson SP Oswalt SP Wells SP Cashner RP Marmol RP Wood RP Marshall RP Samardjiza RP Beliveau RP Russel RP Guzman Time will tell.
  9. Without looking at the numbers I would rather have Kelly Johnson than Hill or Barney, I believe KJ is a free agent as well correct?
  10. I got the feeling Ramirez will go and Z will stay, anyone else get that feeling? Either that or Theo was hinting at the Cubs needing him to keep what trade value he has up. Too soon to tell but I think the Cubs will take some offensive chances and throw a lot of money at pitching. Someone please shoot Phil Rogers for riding the Bryan LaHair bandwagon, I am fine with him on the bench but getting significant starting time is silly for a large market team.
  11. Boston is the city of Dunkin Donuts, there are something like 120 DD's in Boston city limits alone. DD is the best coffee.
  12. Tony LaRussa is a whiney douchebag.
  13. I think most of us agree that it makes more sense to keep him than to pay him to pitch somewhere else, but I think Zambrano has finally got on management's last nerve. I agree, I do not think he is staying unless a new manager gets named and clearly states he wants to have him on their team.
  14. Albert Pujols - Cardinals Prince Fielder - Blue Jays CC Sabathia - Yankees CJ Wilson - Cubs Jose Reyes - Giants Jimmy Rollins - Phillies Aramis Ramirez - Angels Carlos Beltran - Giants David Ortiz - Red Sox Jonathan Papelbon - Red Sox Francisco Rodriguez - Orioles Heath Bell - Padres Brad Lidge - Blue Jays Joe Nathan - White Sox Jonathan Broxton - Cardinals Ryan Madson - Phillies Mark Buehrle - White Sox Michael Cuddyer - Tigers Carlos Pena - Cubs Yu Darvish - Does not come to US Edwin Jackson - Cubs Johnny Damon - Rays
  15. 11am central correct?
  16. I like Cuddyer but he may get more than he is worth because production has been a little inconsistent. I do like the fact he can play multiple positions.
  17. ESPN RUMOR Central states the Mets will look into trading Wright. May be another option.
  18. He actually doesn't talk about stats that much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2aN4S2fGoA I'm talking stuff like this. Chicago Media = I can't wait to hear Kaplan get statistically dominated by Theo Bernstein and Theo would make for a good conversation.
  19. step 1 Sign Fielder step 2 dump Sori on whomever no matter the cost (lackey for sori?) step 3 trade Z, barney, prospect(s) and cash to Marlins for Nolasco and Morrison step 4 sign Wilson but when/if the $ gets crazy fallback on Jackson/Vasquez/maholm type pitchers. step 5 resign Wood step 6 3B - if Ramirez is not retained, look at 1 year options starting with Edwin Incarnation step 7 destroy Koyie Hill Step 8 do more if needed. Castro ss Jackson Cf fielder 1B Morrison LF Soto C Byrd RF Encarnacion 3B Baker/Dewitt/DJ 2B Garza Wilson/jackson/vasquez/maholm dempster nolasco Wells/cash see what happens, most important thing is there is a core of offensive players from 1 through 5 that would allow the Cubs to build arround them. I would not be afraid to trade Soto in a package for a top young 3B or SP either. I think the cubs should be aggressive in acquiring players that will be in their primes in 2013,14,15 with hopes everything clicks a year earlier or the division comes back to the Cubs.
  20. Two main reasons for the existence and rationality of that belief: Prince's weight vs Pujols' excellent physical fitness and Pujols being a once in a lifetime, transcendent talent. stay away from Albert please, he will break down fast because he WAS a roider. I will not be convinced otherwise. I give him maybe 3 years til his production falls off the table.
  21. best off-season moment in my lifetime!
  22. fielder, Wilson come on down! Rickets makes my nipples hard.
  23. I really hope it is not Vitters, call me crazy but i see a bust out year for him next year and regaining his stock as a top prospect.
  24. Maybe they can announce they have an agreement without going into details until Friday?
