  1. Lol. Longest catch of the season was 25 yards. One touchdown. Numerous drops. Roy Williams ladies and gentlemen.
  2. I just won my championship on that Brees to Meachem TD.
  3. It's getting to the point where someone needs to change the thread title to "Travis Wood + 2 PTBNLs" My god.
  4. Bears just announced that McCown is starting this game. Feel bad for Hanie, he'll probably never play in the NFL again.
  5. If we win this game I think Cutler plays against GB, but at this point I'm sort of indifferent on making it to the playoffs. Higher draft pick + sparing us the humilation of a blowout loss in New Orleans or Green Bay = fine by me.
  6. Cutler apparently threw some before the Broncos game. No word on how he felt.
  7. So I bought tickets to this game on the morning of the Chargers game. Just a few hours later we lost our franchise QB and our season has completely unraveled since. It will be my first game at Soldier Field. If the Falcons lose Thursday to the Jags, I will be a lot more excited for this game. That's very unlikely though.
  8. Who knew that the two former Cowboys would end up being the two most hated players on this team? You can add Sam Hurd to the list if you hate him for being an ineffective WR.
  9. I'm frustrated about today too but saying next season is over already is rather ridiculous. Our team was looking damn near unstoppable until Cutler went down. The O-Line will be more experienced, hopefully get another playmaker in here on offense. The defense will be fine. As I continue on my quest for a silver lining, let me just say that Cutler would probably not have been close to 100% at anytime during the playoffs (Forte either), which would likely include us having to win three road games to make the Super Bowl. While playoff football is always nice, it just was not meant to be this year. At this point I think we should just shut down Cutler for the year and let the bone heal fully without risking future injury. There is little to gain and much to lose by bringing him back this year. Looking forward to the Lions getting dismantled by someone in the playoffs. They're not winning a road playoff game.
  10. I'm sure Atlanta would have managed to get back into FG range for the game-winning FG. But yeah, we're not making the playoffs.
  11. It's not the end of the world if Detroit pulls away without us or Atlanta. At least we would avoid losing the 3-way tiebreaker. Panthers obviously need to win today. 7-7 right now.
  12. I agree, seeing him in pinstripes would be a lot stranger. Couple the similar uniform with the fact that it's the Angels and you have a pretty anti-climactic ending to the whole Pujols deal, other than him no longer being a Cardinal.
  13. Well at least these fans still have the Packers. But the days of nobody caring about or being threatened by the Brewers are about to return. Their pitching will keep them in games, but they won't do much of anything with Prince gone and Braun being out for 50 games/off PEDs.
  14. I'm expecting a loss in Denver, but even a win doesn't "change everything". Their primary WC opponents still have the advantage, and a beatable Seattle team still is a big threat to this Bears team. They are already going to lose to Green Bay as well. A win against Denver could mean the difference between 9-7 and 10-6, which would likely make a difference in getting a WC. If we lose against Denver, we're not getting to 10 wins or the playoffs because we're not beating GB, like you said. But 10-6 can still easily leave the Bears on the outside, given ATL and DET schedules. And a win against this team doesn't make me any more confident about facing Seattle next week. We have an offense that on any given Sunday could be shut out. 1 week, even if it's an impressive win, won't change that. Every remaining game on the schedule is a major hurdle. Yes you're correct, but going from almost no WC chance to a decent WC chance with a win is "changing everything" to me. You're trying to assign your own definition to what I said. In other words, this is an important game and pretty much decides whether our season continues. All I was trying say.

  16. It's really painful to think where we'd be hadn't Cutler gotten hurt. Very likely 9-3 right now, probably looking at 11 or 12 wins and easily the 5th seed. But it's sports and these things happen. I guess the consolation is that we might save ourselves another potential NFCCG loss against GB, but I would still have loved to have that chance. And while the "window" on defense may be closing slightly, I think our offense will only get better from here. The offensive line is a work in progress and is probably one more good piece away from being an above-average to good o-line. The WR group is shaky, still in need of that stud #1 WR, and in my opinion is the #1 priority in draft. We addressed it in FA which failed horribly, as Roy Williams needs cut. Hester should be KR/PR only, which is what he's been for the past couple weeks. Bennett and Knox can stay, but there should at least be one WR ahead of them, probably two. The draft needs to go like this: WR OL LB TE I know it seems like I've thrown in the towel on this season, but frankly I don't see the Bears beating the Broncos which is an absolute must to keep it alive. If they manage to pull it out, it changes everything with a beatable Seattle team coming to town the following week.
  17. I feel pretty comfortable in saying that neither of this year's World Series teams will be heading back next year.
  18. I don't think I've ever met one Bears/Cardinals fan. Perhaps they're mostly in St. Louis and rooted for the Bears before the Rams came to town. Most Cardinals fans seem to be Chiefs fans though.
  19. You'll get nothing and like it. Seriously though, why are you a Magic, Bears, Cubs fan? I'm a Cubs, Bears, Magic, and TB Lightning fan. That's quite a bit different than liking every Chicago team except for one and in turn cheering for their biggest rival instead. Plus, I've never met another fan with the same combo of favorite teams. On the other hand I've seen hundreds of Cubs/Packers fans through the years. Just wondered if there was one prevailing reason why.
  20. All I've ever wanted is an explanation for the ridiculous amount of Cubs/Packers fans out there. Perhaps it's largely due to the Bears being atrocious in the 90s, which in turn makes some of these fans bandwagoners. Right?
  21. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Forte plays this Sunday.
  22. Wait, what? No New Years Day bowl games? That's a misprint, right?
  23. With the Chiefs operating an anemic offense it makes it even more important for Hanie to be rather conservative today, throw the ball away if nothing's there. Win the battle with field position and we'll be fine. Succop is no Janikowski, but they can still beat us with FGs if we let them.
  24. Pete agrees with you: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/prisco/picks/week13 I'm a bit more optimistic personally. Bears 24 Chiefs 9
  25. After Week 8 I was incredibly close to dropping Marshawn Lynch from my team. Really glad I thought twice about it.
