  1. Holy crap Turkoglu cannot play PG. Come back Nelson. Good win though.
  2. Find a way to pry Zach Miller away from Seattle. Probably wouldn't take much coming off the season he just had.
  3. What? Steve Johnson has two inches and 25 lbs on Knox. How is 6'2" 210 not a "big man type"? Roy Williams looked huge out there and he's 6'3" 215. Barely larger. A lot worse player too. Johnson doesn't have Calvin or VJax size, but neither do Andre or Fitzgerald. His vertical is probably more important.
  4. Emery >>> Ruskell, right?
  5. Pushed wide left by the Sith mind trick.
  6. Why do so many want to see 49ers-Ravens? You really want a 17-13 game? I know it would be one of those dreaded SB rematches, but Giants-Patriots would be the most exciting out of the four possible matchups.
  7. Hey Lance.. http://espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=310102009 http://espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=310123003 http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=310925003 http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=311225009 http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings I'm guessing you spent a good 5-10 minutes on this post.
  8. Yeah they were repeatedly fouling him at half-court just to get him to the line, lol. In their defense, he did only make 21 of those 39.
  9. This weekend went absolutely perfectly. The Lions and Steelers are out, the three NFC teams with the best chance of beating GB still remain, and Tebow-mania will reach a new level this week. So far this is as enjoyable as a Bears-less playoffs can be.
  10. From Adam Schefter:
  11. Okay, "unnerving" was a poor choice of wording, as I do think the guy will be fine. Sometimes it's just hard to ignore when numbers drastically improve with a move to the PCL, in this case with his OPS jumping almost 250 points from the year before. I too hope that most of it is a product of his development and I do suspect this. I also realize that putting up those numbers at age 21 is quite an accomplishment and that's why he's a highly-touted prospect. He'll make it in the bigs and be our everyday 1B, that's not what I'm bringing into question. I just hope he becomes the star that we all, including myself, think he will become. I'm not sure why this was all seen as such a heretical statement to some, as I've seen many "regulars" on here say the exact same thing about the PCL.
  12. I like this trade, but I have to admit it's a bit unnerving that the only thing Rizzo has over LaHair right now from a statistical standpoint is age. Granted, LaHair has hit his ceiling and Rizzo hasn't, but I echo the sentiments of those who find it hard to trust PCL numbers.
  13. Do people hate this simply because it's going to be a joint-effort calling offensive plays? I have to think Tice was largely responsible for the success of the running game this year (even after the injuries to C. Williams and Forte) and for fixing a lot of the protection issues with minimal talent to work with. Therefore I'm fine with this move for the time being. Let's wait and see who the "passing game coach" is before hating on this move. That's pretty much all Martz was anyway.
  14. They'll have to beat the Vikings to LA. Or maybe LA can have two teams again.
  15. Go Bengals, Saints, Giants, and Broncos.
  16. then call me ignorant because cutler throwing was the key the whole time and remains the key. Without cutler they can't do anything, regardless of forte or no forte I obviously worded that poorly, so let me rephrase. Basically, they couldn't pass without also utilizing their running game, something that has been proven the past two seasons. I agree that they need to develop into a pass-first team, but that's not something the Bears have been capable of to this point. Need to bring in more talent.
  17. Wow I forgot how horrible Stacey King is.
  18. Wow I didn't intend for my post to start a huge debate over offensive philosophy. The point I was trying to make is that the Bears were incapable of winning with Martz's style of offense simply because they lacked the WRs and protection to run it. The blessing from Cutler's injury comes by getting a new GM who fills the roster with better talent on the line and at WR, allowing for the Bears to succeed at passing at the level needed to be a championship contender. They proved in the early part of the last two seasons what happens when a team incapable of running a pass-first offense decides to do so. Running Forte was the absolute key to this offense's success, and to pretend otherwise is ignorance. But with the right people around Cutler, the Bears can have a powerful passing game. If not on the level of the Saints and Packers, at least on the level of the 2008 Broncos when Cutler threw for 4,500 yards. It just clearly wasn't going to happen with Angelo, which was evident when he failed to sufficiently address both the OL and WR positions.
  19. Well I'll be damned if the Cutler injury wasn't a blessing in disguise. Likely scenario if he doesn't get hurt was a road playoff loss in New Orleans or Green Bay, everyone stays on for another year, and we go through the same pass-happy poor protection ordeal next year. It's an exciting time to be a Cubs and Bears fan. Been stuck with Hendry and Angelo for the past 10 years, now are both fired within a few months of each other.
  20. Are there any 1st round quality WRs coming out this year besides Blackmon and Floyd?
  21. Wow that is a pretty cake schedule assuming none of those teams improve drastically. Four of our six division games will be tougher than any of the others though. When's the last time Dallas came to Chicago? I swear everytime we play them we go there.
  22. I might be worrying over nothing but is anyone else a little concerned about Cutler? I'm not sure what permanent screws and a "loss of flexibility" in the thumb does to one throwing a football, but for someone who throws as hard as Cutler does, I am a bit anxious about it.
  23. Considering there are now eight 8-8 teams and the Bears are toward the bottom of those teams in tiebreakers, looks like today's win cost us a good 6 or 7 spots in the draft. :(
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since Detroit and Atlanta both finished 10-6, the Bears could have went 10-6 and still missed the playoffs due to losing the 3-way tiebreaker. So in reality we came up three wins short. No doubt in my mind that Cutler's injury was almost 100% to blame for missing the playoffs. We don't go worse than 4-2 with him playing.
