I don't get why you guys are so caught up in things like this. Some players/pitchers aren't championed in the minors and can develop into really good players in the majors. It happens quite often actually. Because it never seems to happen for us. Every once in a while we see some irrelevant dude like Donnie Murphy play out of his mind for a few months, but almost never do our marginal players develop legit, solid careers, which is what consistently happens in St. Louis. Jake Arietta went from god awful to one of the top 5-10 pitchers in baseball. 5th round draft pick and the #4 prospect for Baltimore two years in a row in what was, at the time, a really good farm system. He just really figured it out with the Cubs, is all. Sure, very few probably thought he'd be this good, but he was never unknown or devoid of talent.

That regular season PUP thing for White better be pure speculation by Rapoport. I have a hard time seeing why he'd need an additional 4+ weeks after running begins. PUP would mean he can't practice or play during the first 6 games, which means no practice until the bye week and no playing until Week 8 against the Vikings. November freaking 1st.

Urlacher and Kreutz took in practice today. Olin's slimmed down quite a bit from his playing days.

The Bears haven't won less than 4 games my entire life, and the 1997-2000, 2002 teams were far worse than this one.

Everything gets blown up this time of year. It's a shin for christ sake, and he's walking/standing on it. B & B are insufferable.

Goldman only missed one practice due to dehydration. He's fine. White is a bigger concern though. Fox doesn't sound too confident. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he misses all of camp.

I remember being pissed at Emery for not going after a better backup than McCown two years ago. On the flip side, I felt great about our depth after signing Jason Campbell. Needless to say I pretty much ignore that position now.
