  1. Thank God. There isn't a person in the bullpen I trust less than Hammel. Maybe Richard.
  2. Let the complete Lackey meltdown and implosion commence.
  3. I heard Lackey talk for the first time a few days ago. He sounds dumber and douchier than I could have ever imagined.
  4. Can't see the game. Is Lackey throwing a bitch-fit?
  5. I was just about to dog Maddon for hitting the pitcher 8th, but he shut my ass up in a hurry.
  6. Maybe if they were bringing Lester back on short rest after 115 pitches to throw another 125, he'd have picked the Cubs.
  7. And a line, as well as a homerun threat running back. Cutler has been pretty good of making the most out of a bad line in the past. And even though Bushrod sucks, I think he'll still be an improvement over Leno when he returns. Grasu should also improve with each game. They won't be good, but I have hope for them being serviceable. Forte is still a Top 10 back in this league, so I'm not really worried about his inability to hit football dongs. And as discussed, if Smith is fully healthy he could eventually bring a little big-play ability to the RB position. I guess technically you're right though, since I know that's what you want to hear. I'm not sure how a deep threat could be all they are missing if you can acknowledge that Cutler still has to make magic avoiding the rush due to the weak line. I was thinking solely in terms of the ways the offense could score points, not evaluating every single facet of the offense. My mistake, I didn't differentiate. I guess I have to [expletive] spell everything out to avoid the jersey magnifying glass. It's also kind of sick how quickly you reply to this stuff. It's like you just wait for the next thing you can rip apart. I hope that makes you happy though.

  9. Really anxious to see what happens with White if we head into the bye at 3-3. Surely he won't be ready when eligible (Nov. 1), but I could see him returning around Thanksgiving if the Bears are still in contention. A deep threat is pretty much all that's missing from this offense. Couple that with Jeffery returning and this squad could do some damage down the stretch.
  10. Especially considering Lackey's ERA is a full 2 runs higher on the road, now coupled with short rest. If I'm Matheny I try my best to win a Hammel vs Lynn slugfest and get to G5 with Lackey at home on normal rest. Now if it goes to G5 the Cubs probably get Garcia who they've already beat up once. They're desperate, no doubt about it. Their "historic" staff is a shambles right now. Lackey is the only one with a decent chance of avoiding being smacked around. That's fine if they really think home-field will help whichever non-Lackey pitcher they'd throw out there. It didn't seem to matter on Saturday. For me personally, if we lose tomorrow I'll have almost full-confidence of winning G5 in St. Louis with Lester facing whoever. On the other hand, if we lost and then had to face Lackey at Busch on normal rest, I'd be much, much less confident.

  12. Really hope he didn't hurt himself on that 45-footer.
  13. Isn't Antone Smith that big play guy from Atlanta last year? He should be a lot more exciting to watch than Jacquizz [expletive] Rodgers.
  14. [expletive] warrior performance by Cutler. Also, maybe we don't win if Charles doesn't go down? Just trying to console myself for my fantasy season now being over. :( Beat Detroit next week and get to .500
  15. I live in the Quad-Cities, opportunities don't come by as often as they do in Chicago, which is every night somewhere.
  16. Definitely like B
