  1. So these Tampa pitchers are supposed to be significantly better than Hammel and/or Hendricks, right? What about Warren? I'm sort of surprised we're still looking at starting pitchers.
  2. I was not familiar with this guy until those videos, and I am now in love.
  3. We have Miguel Montero AND Kyle Schwarber and we are talking about catchers?
  4. Wait... what did I miss?
  5. I don't understand what the benefit of doing that is.
  6. Yeah, they definitely need to bump that number up. You don't want to win too many games.
  7. Exactly. Like I said, he reminds me of him. He's a black guy that plays right field and speaks Spanish and swings really hard. That is not the same thing as saying they have similar skill sets.
  8. You guys are ridiculous. I wasn't even comparing Soler to Vlad. He just reminds me of him because of his swing. He has that two-handed follow through and he swings so hard that the bat hits him in the back. Overall, they are not very similar players, for reasons that have mostly already been covered.
  9. I can't argue with you there. But, just based on how athletic he is, I'm optimistic that he figures it out.
  10. I am calling a breakout year by Soler. Remember this post. I have never left the Soler bandwagon. He reminds me too much of Vlad Guerrero.
  11. I'm glad the Sox got Frazier. I just feel horrible for the White Sox and their fans right now. Anything to cheer them up. I can't believe I just said any of that.
  12. My friend is a Dodgers fan, and he is just miserable. Greinke to Arizona. Shark to the Giants. Cueto to the Giants. It's just sad.
  13. It should be noted that Heyward only gets to opt out if he plays a certain number of games. If he gets hurt, he does not get to opt out.
  14. This is not a valid complaint. "Whatevs" is the correct response. Seriously, this is the best Cubs off-season in my 26 years on this planet. I could not complain if I tried. It's funny, all I wanted was a decent starting pitcher. I wanted Price, but if you told me we were gonna get Lackey, Heyward, and Zobrist... I wouldn't even have believed you. For once, the front office of a Chicago sport team actually exceeded expectations.
  15. I kind of care. I mean I'm not outraged, but it's a little annoying. Let's hope it doesn't matter. The only reason it would be an issue is if the Cubs were sellers at the deadline in the next 2 seasons.
  16. That's probably why we backed out of the Heyward talks at the last second.
  17. Uh-oh... we've got a mystery team situation... http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/14320064/unidentified-fourth-team-enters-trade-talks-miami-marlins-ace-jose-fernandez
  18. Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting here bummed out that we let Jason Motte go.
  19. Cahill received less money and years... But yes, I'd rather have Cahill than Motte. I don't know what the Rockies are doing. Good for Motte though, nice guy. I guess I just didn't consider $800k and 1 year to be an enormous difference. In my head, I was thinking, "Wow, we could have had Motte, and we chose Cahill". Maybe you're right, I dunno.
  20. Wait a second... so Trevor Cahill is better and more desirable than Jason Motte? EDIT: Just realized Cahill used to be a starter. That makes a little more sense.
