  1. That's kinda how I feel. I wanna see him play.
  2. We definitely opened against the Cards at night last year... I was there... it was "the bathroom game".
  3. i think if it has any impact on his future as a catcher it would be negative That's what I would think. I would be surprised if he catches another game in the big leagues. I think it's only a matter of time before we trade Schwarber to the AL.
  4. Is it not possible that this is a 4-6 week meniscus thing? Good ole Doug McDermott special?
  5. Does WAR take into account his status as an urban legend?
  6. Making fun of your alcohol conspiracy theory MADE you talk about your views on western medicine? Considering the nature of their posts, it seemed clear to me that they were pretty much tying both topics together.
  7. That is literally the first time in my life that I have been called a meatball. So, thank you.
  8. what if lackey pitched this badly all year but the cubs were undefeated in his starts Then I would call it divine intervention.
  9. Other people won't let it die. There are now multiple threads containing zingers directed at me that were unprovoked. BS. You bought up your conspiracy [expletive] about broken bones in this thread. Nobody forced that. [expletive]!!! yeah none of that generic crap. brand name anesthesia. same goes for all the gauze and stitches and stuff. don't want him to get infected or for it to be a shoddy repair.
  10. Other people won't let it die. There are now multiple threads containing zingers directed at me that were unprovoked. I was more than willing to drop it after the nomz thread got locked.
  11. I hope you aren't implying that there is literally no conspiracy in the medical industry, and that all doctors are experts that have your best interest in mind, and no interest in billing your insurance company. That would be a little naive.
  12. You don't necessarily have to be a pro athlete for my statement to apply. I have broken bones before, and you're damn right I went to the doctor. I'm not gonna set my broken leg myself.
  13. One thing I should mention, since we're still on the subject, is that my views on western medical practice COMPLETELY reverse when it comes to pro sports. When it comes to things like broken bones, torn ligaments, etc... that's the stuff where doctors really know their horsefeathers. Also, as far as the conspiracy aspect, that goes away entirely. Know why? When it comes to athletes, the big money actually IS in keeping them healthy and getting them back on the field/court as soon as possible.
  14. Word to that. I used to love the late games when I was a kid, cuz it meant I got to stay up late. Now, it just means I don't get to go to bed early. Weird.
  15. If Lackey shits the bed this year, Schwarber gets hurt, and a couple of our other young hitters disappoint... Ugh. Now I need to try to think happy thoughts.
  16. You have absolutely no idea what I have been through. It's far from a joke. I almost lost my life to "medicine".
  17. reading articles through google, facebook, or some kook's blog is not doing research. There is no conspiracy by big pharma or anything like that. Anyone that believes in the anti vax movement should be hung. Thanks for assuming you know where I do my research.
  18. Have you guys seen Idiocracy? The hospital in that movie is exactly how hospitals are in real life. They hook you up to a machine, and then they give you whatever pill their book says to give you.
  19. I generally am very outspoken that western medical practice is a crock of horsefeathers, yes. The system is not set up to cure us, it is set up to keep us sick and treat us. That's where the money is. If everyone was healthy, the entire industry would collapse. The fact that all of the literature in medical school is written by the pharma companies should tell you everything you need to know. Trust me when I say this: I have my reasons for feeling this way. I'm not just being a rebel. I have experienced medical negligence like you wouldn't believe. I have cured myself of severe medical problems that had the doctors completely stumped. If I had followed the recommendations of the doctors, I would be a bed-ridden zombie that takes handfuls of horse pills and isn't allowed to drive a car. I'm being dead serious. As far as vaccines, that is one of the things that I have not made up my mind on yet. I've heard pretty convincing arguments from both sides, and I have to do more research to weed out what is true and what isn't. I have a feeling there is a lot of [expletive] on both sides. Luckily I don't have kids yet.
  20. Think about it this way... There is at least a slight chance that Soler has a breakout year with the dongs. There is at least a slight chance that Baez has a breakout year with the dongs. Between the two of them, I'd say there is a reasonable chance that one of them has a breakout year with the dongs. So, even if Schwarber dies during surgery due to an allergic reaction to anesthesia, we should still get some power out of left field.
  21. You guys are in denial. I have a sneaking suspicion that you guys are the same crowd that would tell me I'm getting ripped off by buying expensive, local organic food. You'd tell me it's "just the same" as the GMO crap they sell at Walmart. You'd tell me I'm just paying for the cute little "USDA Organic" logo, because I'm snobby like that. Well, save your breath. I've heard it all before.
  22. Luckily for us, Schwarber doesnt need his knees quite as much as someone like Derrick Rose. The catching would be in jeaporady, but overall his career wouldn't be threatened. With Rose, we all knew he was in big trouble after the first knee injury in 2012, just because he is a player that relies so much on his ability to explode and change directions.
