  1. You do realize we were only up by 2 with the meat of the Astros order coming up, right? When? They were up four when Gregg came in, no (Gregg gave up one run on the sac fly)? Anyway, that's not the only time he could have been used. He could have been used in the eigth instead of Mormol. Look, at some point guys like Guzman and Heilman (he did finally pitch last night) have to be trusted in a tight game. Mormol and Gregg simply can not hold up at this ridiculous pace. edit: you were talking about the eighth when you said up two, i guess.
  2. refused to use Guzman again last night. are you kidding, Lou? i look forward to him whining about Mormol/Gregg being worn down in July. i can already see it. after not pitching for a week Guzman will walk a few guys in his next appearance and then it's banishment time.
  3. To bring up Cub killer Hunter Pence? He'd take Lilly deep. shows what you know. 8-[
  4. wow, several good chances and then they turn it around. wtf
  5. first two guys got on. then Lilly popped up a bunt and Soriano GIDP.
  6. i've said it many times, but the only thing i hate more than sacs, is failed sacs.
  7. yeah, the picks are sexy. i wonder if i can get a mod to change my status to "Cutler Fanboy". Hmmmm..
  8. I think most posters finally got fed up with the game threads and decided to never go in there. The lack of Cubs talk in general is appaling. When I click "View New Posts", the majority of posts are non-baseball related. Appalling? Really? The amount of non-Cubs related discussion in game threads reaches appalling levels? i think he meant on the board in general, not game threads.
  9. Heilman hasn't pitched since Saturday. Guzman since Sunday. They've been two of the better relievers, so I don't get it. It's great that he rested Marmol and Gregg on Tuesday and all, but they'd both thrown 4 of 5 days before that. It's foolish to think they can continue that work load and hold up. Besides, it's not necessary when Guzman and Heilman are dependable.
  10. They mentioned last night that Miles has started 14 games in a row? That's ridiculously far more than anyone would like to see. He has been hitting well vs. LHP though (.333/.333/.500).
  11. Bump after missing last night's game after it flared up again. Bruce didn't have a piece about it. This is what Rogers had to say:
  12. i was thinking there is/was a good chance that Scales might stay for a while and Gathright might get the boot on Friday. now with Lee's neck flairing up again, i wonder if they may decide to call up J. Fox and drop both Gathright and Scales.
  13. I thought, aside from possibly becoming a starter, a big reason for keeping Samardzjia in AAA to start the season was so that he could work on his secondary pitches. They panicked and called him up too soon and now Lou is complaining that he needs to work on his secondary pitches.
  14. Great. Thanks CCP and Fred. Not sure why I assumed ESPN wouldn't have them. I would have guessed Soto, Lee and Fukudome were seeing fewer with Soriano seeing more. Really, they're in line with 2008 except for Soto, who is actually seeing more. Fukudome seeing slightly less.
