This is one of those times where it sucks that the starting pitcher's pitch count is so high. This dude blows even though Cubs have only scored twice.

I don't like Hammel being on the bases and tiring himself out with the heart of the order coming up. That's probably irrational.

Only thing I don't like about the trade (not even knowing who they got back) is that I had convinced myself Montero was putting up such good numbers because he was fresh and strong from only playing about three full games per week.

PS - this deal is another counterpoint to the 'tightest lipped front office around' rhetoric, as we've known the Castillo side of this deal for a little while now but no news from the Seattle end. That might be because Welington is by far the most noteworthy part, which means the Cubs are getting nobody people know. Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see major interest in Castillo and the Cubs might have finally realized they don't want three catchers anymore and were willing to part with him cheap despite what they said in Spring Training.
