  1. I guess I'm staring to wonder whether he really can do it. But if he can, then no worries. ETA: I feel there have been three instances this season where he could have fielded a ball and didn't go for it, and a few times it ended up being a hit. It made me start to wonder if he can't even throw to bases anymore.
  2. Was wondering about this and hoping people could tell me why this wouldn't work when facing Lester. When a runner reaches first base, if they have any sort of reasonable speed (pretty much any non-catchers), could they just start running to second before Lester even delivers the pitch? I'm starting to think he can't throw to a base even in mediocre fashion, so wouldn't he have to run toward either first or second and flip underhand? And would a runner beat that every time?
  3. I know he's been out most of the season, but damn I thought he threw more than three innings so far.
  4. Was just looking at that yesterday, Then I saw that he's making 20 million four seasons from now, and I was happy we just traded for Montero. But, yeah, he's going off so far.
  5. Other than that one great Russell play to get Hamilton back in Cincy, how many times has Lester got Hamilton out this year?
  6. It feels like we give up runs a lot the very next inning when we just scored some. Let's not do that here.
  7. Little doubt about that portion of your statement. What parts did you disagree with? Are you even watching the game? We all could have made that play. Stop being a dick just to be a dick.

  9. I guess all errors suck, but those really, really suck. I could have made that play, and I suck. http://myreactiongifs.com/gifs/jenniferlawrenceokaythumbup.gif Are you trying to say I don't suck?

  11. I definitely haven't gotten that fuzzy feeling that we are for sure going to win when I see he's pitching. He's been solid, but.....yeah.
  12. He's saying we're a fun culture. Our "aces" in the hole here are Maddon & Johnson. If we want to spend the money, I think we've got a real chance to recruit Price. Man this is going to be embarrassing for me, but I can't think of who Johnson is?
  13. Jean Segura missed like two weeks with a broken pinkie finger last month. I wonder why a ring finger is so much longer?
  14. Let's hope Castro can double up on goodness and have a clean sixth inning on defense.
  15. It's cool that Castro can make good defensive plays, but that he reverts to a junior varsity player on the routine ones is a bit of a concern.
  16. Except he had that game-winning hit against the Pirates. Oh. Yes he did. Paul Bako also had a few hits as a Cub. Fact of the matter is that he should be primarily a defensive replacement on this team. Nah, it was just a joke. That was the hit Polanco tore his ACL on.
  17. I like to try to be more positive, but it was. It really was.
  18. Except he had that game-winning hit against the Pirates. Oh.
  19. Hate to tell you, but it's only the 8th. I will admit knowing it was the eighth, then getting excited when I thought I was wrong and it was the ninth. Then you brought me back to reality and I'm pissed again.
  20. Yeah, and I think I've let myself think about how this will maybe be the 12th time in the last 16 games they've scored 3 or fewer. And I don't like that these thoughts are getting the best of me.
  21. That's all I can think about. Up 1-0 with bases loaded and nobody out, that was the chance for this anemic offense to score some actual runs.
  22. The [expletive] Twins scored 8 tonight. And 4 in the ninth. Aren't the Twins good, though?
