  1. If it's Castro he'd still be thrown out at first. Kidding. Kidding.
  2. This is one of the worst stretches in team history. Gawd, I hope you are right.
  3. http://33.media.tumblr.com/a053352c36ac06b141e087814cb3a5db/tumblr_mrjp55V7aC1rvn2ylo1_500.gif Hahahahahaha
  4. So it is because they are hitting dongs. I knew it wasn't because they actually hit. I don't know, can people teach others to dong? Oh well. I think we all can agree hitting coaches don't mean crap.
  5. He left Houston to come here, look how Houston is doing without him Not well? 4th in runs? Up from 21st last year? I just always struggle to find more than one guy hitting .200. Must have been good at teaching them to hit homers?
  6. He left Houston to come here, look how Houston is doing without him Not well?
  7. If only they hadn't also been scoring O, 1 or 2 in non-Lester starts. Doesn't matter the names, this has been bad.
  8. Just getting him to third with the top of the order up would have been progress.
  9. He certainly ain't getting the $15 AAV on a long-term deal some think he is.
  10. It wouldn't matter much, but I'd feel some happiness if Bryant specifically would hit a ball really hard this at-that goes for a hit, one that goes over the wall even.
  11. I don't know this for sure because I don't know many Cardinals fans, but I bet they feel this way about almost every team.
  12. Yeah, it's the reverse of a contract year where you actually have your worst year at the wrong time. I don't know if he's putting pressure on himself or not, but he is costing himself some money if he doesn't turn this around.
  13. That and not hitting any doubles. Can we just get a few doubles for the Cubs up in here?
  14. This team seems to have a lot of those stretches - just about to break through and then into the tank. It was like 3 days ago only 2 teams in baseball had fewer losses and now it feels... a lot worse than that. Which, as much as it can suck, is sort of what's to be expected for this season.
  15. Was just thinking the same thing last inning. Not 35-1 but far more than 4-1. I really shouldn't feel like this game is as over as it feels, but yeah.
  16. The Cubs might be looking at their sixth straight game of two runs or fewer. It's been a rough week watching baseball.
  17. It will happen again, but this inning has reminded me how much I miss an inning where the Cubs get multiple hits and score multiple runs and is followed by several "I love this team" posts.
  18. Damn. I feel every hit this weekend has been in the gap between center and right.
  19. Eh; too old and the recent injury history makes me not a fan. Plus it seems like they'll be bringing Baez up as soon as they can. I'm still not all that optimistic about him, but it sure seems like he's who the organization is banking on replacing Castro. For some reason I feel Baez is the chip the organization most wants to trade. He wasn't their pick, and he isn't exactly the type of player they look to draft. They aren't giving him away or anything, of course. You could say the same about Castro. Of course, the big difference is that Castro has had sustained success at the MLB level...but he's got some worrying trends that have been going on for a while. Honestly, I kinda want to trade both of them at this point. You want to trade both right now...........and I can't say for sure that they don't want to as well. They get to move Russell to short, and get some nice things (hopefully) back for the pair in different trades. Would have to fill 2B, but whatever. They would find a way. Maybe give Alcantra another chance.

  21. I almost never care about announcers, but holy damn, Harold Reynolds is effing awful. It's like he can't even fall into being right even once.
