  1. Just reading and not watching is way worse. It sounded really, really bad.
  2. I turned the game off and am only following here because I can't take it. I just want to see Fred's Cubs Win! Cubs Win! post. Please.
  3. There is nothing I love more than scoring a run with one out and a man on third.
  4. Naturally, Russell and Castro decide to slump at the exact same time. Well, that was more going to happen whenever Russell went into a slump.
  5. Safe to assume everyone who wanted Fowler for 4-60 still feel that way? Or that he has least gets that from some team? It hasn't been that long since this discussion so opinions probably haven't changed, but just checking.
  6. I think they were down to 5 Royals on the last ballot and a couple of the positions they held leads in were close. I've always felt MLB wouldn't let something like that happen and would fudge numbers if needed.
  7. Not to be negative, but we have been facing offenses as bad as ours recently.
  8. I feel bad for Starlin. All his defensive mistakes are even more heightened because the Cubs are always holding one-run leads when they happen. I don't even know if that's true, of course.
  9. Damn. So no Cub in 13 innings other than Bryant has gotten a hit?
  10. Well...Houston sure has improved since they fired his ass Again, they don't hit. They bash a ton of homers. That probably has nothing to do with who their coach is.
  11. Did something happen today or just in general? think he's referring to the coomer PBP inning which doesn't really need explaining if you've ever heard one Oh, gotcha.
  12. He sees the dollars going down by the day. Smart to grasp at anything as a reason, I suppose.
  13. You know things have hit bottom when people actually start to think the problem might be the hitting coach.
  14. I'd have actually gotten the out at first and let Latos get to second.
  15. That's what I was imagining before the season. I love Soler, but I don't think he's going to be any different of a player than he was 30 days ago. I don't imagine he's improved one bit while injured, as it's difficult to get better while not playing. There is a sense of excitement for his return. But Denoforia was actually pretty solid and unless Soler is going to start hitting for more power, not sure there will be much of a difference for a struggling offense.
  16. Yup. Kris Bryant made it seem like the offense was awesome tonight......but not much changed.
  17. I misjudged the offense. With young guys making up a good deal of it I had assumed there would be some down stretches. But I was sort of hoping for more up ones, too.
  18. Sweet. That should cut down on the strikeouts a ton.
  19. I'm so scared about so many teams we might play in the playoffs. Oh wait. That would mean we are in the playoffs. Never mind.
