  1. To be fair to the Cubs, they treat everyone like Strasburg.
  2. Tossed the bat several feet in the air after popping out and impeded Montero's pursuit. Thanks.
  3. As bad as Travis Wood has been, his outings haven't been all bad this season. He went 7 innings with three hits and no runs in his second start, 5 IP, 4 H, 3 runs in his third (I know, not great, but not awful) and 7 IP, 5 H, 2 runs in his third start. These last two starts have been awful, though.
  4. Which sounds good. But it's going to be difficult to add a real LF, a top starter and a good bullpen guy in the middle of a season. Not everything could be obtained in one offseason.
  5. Well, let's finish the game here before we call it garbage.
  6. Was this post before my game feed? It was. But it sure made me feel a hell of a lot more relaxed when I saw Castro flub the grounder.
  7. I hope eight days doesn't change that. This team is going to be real good for a real long time.
  8. This is the moment that turns the whole season around!
  9. I'll take Bryant finally hitting his first homer no matter the situation.
  10. I say just leave him where he is. Let him continue to experience some success. Also, he will slump again soon since he's 21. He's less likely to slump with Rizzo behind him than Fowler... Soler kind of slumped pretty easily, though.

  12. why? Because in a game that doesn't have as many anymore, he's supposed to be a big-time home run hitter. And to do that, you need to actually eventually hit a home run. Of course he will do it, but you want to see at least one. It's been more than 60 plate appearances and 55 at-bats. Again it's strange but there is like nothing I'm worried about less than Kris Bryant's ability to hit for power. Right, not worried at all. And I realize it's amateur to be like a kid asking a player to hit a home run for them, but I mean, he has to actually start hitting them.

  14. I know he's a rookie, the weather has been cold and he probably could have had a few it Pittsburgh that just fell short, but Kris Bryant needs to hit a home run.
  15. I don't think anyone really needs a rest. The young guys just need to keep playing every day and get their reps in. Let them continue to grind and figure out a way to get out of slumps while on the field.
  16. Oddly enough I don't care about who or who doesn't sing the stretch or if games stop for God Bless America or if they rub their head after getting a hit. I just want wins. And I wanted one today, damn it.
  17. I can't believe they were able to get by with one run. Happy to have learned a lesson today.
  18. exactly. The chances of Ross getting another hit is pretty low and until proven otherwise, the chances of Lester getting a hit is exactly zero. Your best chance there is to get to third base and make it in when Ross makes an out. I don't think Braun makes that throw that many times out of ten tries. I don't disagree with the thought. However, it doesn't just impact that inning. There was an opportunity to clear Lester and start with our double lead off guys the next inning. I have to imagine that hurts the chances of also scoring in the 7th, although maybe not.
  19. it's a game against the brewers in may, relax That doesn't at all change my statement.
  20. Yeah, I have a bad feeling about this one. Made worse by the fact that our lineup is way better than theirs today and we aren't going to captalize on it.
