  1. Where is the option for designated hitter??
  2. sorry for going off on a tangent but, where is Raisin? I was wrong, and I should have known better than to root for anyone who attended USC. -Essian
  3. Am I the only person on this board that enjoys steak tartar?
  4. No, but time is very relative to the person who is experiencing it. At my age, 5 years ago I was in my thirties. When I was 20, five years ago would have meant I was still a sophomore in high school.
  5. Tim wrote: Change in schedule. Got sick again. Much vomiting. Fever. Etc. Will try to get it done at 7pm tonight if I'm still feeling better. Looks like you got your priorities a bit mixed up. They should be: 1. Get better. 2. Think about resheduling this conversion... maybe. quote="Tim"]Sorry...just don't feel well and getting better for the kids during the holidays takes precedence. I'll get it done later in the week. My apologies once again. Looks like you got your priorities a bit mixed up. They should be: 1. Love kids. 2. Get better. 3. Love kids. 4. Think about resheduling this conversion... maybe. Apologies?!? I think not. Thank you Tim. I love Northside Baseball. You're doing a service to Cub fans around the world.
  6. Thanks for the information and good to hear from you.
  7. In another thread this was being discussed. Chances are that they are waiting to clear roster space in a trade or some such before being added.
  8. How about Scott Bullett? For a no hit outfielder, he sure was fast.
  9. If I'm drinking straight soda, it would be Pepsi. However, in mixed drinks I will use Coke.
  10. I guess I'm one of the few that prefers whole milk. It may not be 'as good for you', but as far as taste goes, give me the fat. BTW, did I ever say that I love bacon, butter and that I don't trim the fat of my steaks?
  11. I'm getting so aggravated hitting F5 waiting for something to break. Chances are it'll be me. :x
  12. Not that I agree or disagree, we should should attack the post, not the poster, no? Or did I just not understand completely?
  13. Maybe he should ask Jobu for help.
  14. awesome. who's the other non-white player that they refer to? Is it Victorino, or am I missing one? Ethier. http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/33/332358.jpg What race is he then? I'm curious. I'm pretty sure I heard that his father was French and his mother Mexican from Vin Scully.
  15. Great ideas Tim. I was thinking that living in the Los Angeles area there are many colleges, universities and high schools that spectators could scout players at. Pepperdine is in Malibu, Chatsworth, Sylmar, Garfield and many more high schools play ball and have good prospects come out of their systems. I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if Raisin would still follow UCLA players. Would you want high school and college scouting as well as minor league scouting? Rancho Cucamonga isn't that far from here and the Quakes have a great bunch of prospects for the Angels. It's probably the best way I could help the site.
  16. You're being naive. Cheating is a part of the game, so players/teams hide is better, and there is alot of cheating that goes unnotice. But to think "is not a part of the game", you really are being naive. I don't think it's part of the game, however, I know it happens. Looking for an analogy, I'll go to football. On any given down, if you look, you'll probably see a hold. Does it get called? I think, most times, it doesn't. The gross ones probably do however. At least the one that have an effect on the play do. I remember a few years back Kerry Wood was throwing really well. His curve ball was just sick. The umpire had to check his ball a few times, IIRC, for scuffing or substances. There was none but when you see a ball break that much, it's up to you (the umpire) to check. Did Kenny Rogers have that type of pitch? In my mind, no. Good pitches but not ones I would check for doctoring on.
  17. I have to go with The Life of Brian as the #1 Monty Python.
  18. http://www.boyshopegirlshope.org/locations/chicago/images/MarkPrior2.jpg This is a picture of Mark and Heather. Google search, I'm sure you can find more.
  19. :) Nice Airplane reference.
  20. It's aggravating. Someone please explain to me why southern California is watching Washington vs. Indianapolis instead of the Minnesota - Seattle game. I can even make a case for AZ against the Raiders being broadcast. I guess it's about Manning (?) Don't see why you couldn't draw good ratings with last years SB team though.
  21. While he is a good pitcher, I cringe at the thought of having 3 potentially great pitchers all on the DL at the same time.
  22. Exactly my thoughts as well. The Koren Robinson link is gone though. That of would have been interesting to see Seattle's DB's covering him.
  23. I'm sure it's a coincedence but they've all played on Cub teams.
