  1. Not everyone. Just you. It really shouldn't be a partisan issue. Yet here you are trying to own the libs because you're mad that people are mad about domestic violence. You do what you want. But Addison Russell is not entitled to forgiveness. No one is the bad guy if they decide not to just move on and forgive a domestic abuser. And he's not the victim for having to live with that. If I'm not cheering for him, why would I want him on the team I'm cheering for? If he's already being paid, he can keep getting paid to not be on my TV.
  2. Yes, the real problem is those politically correct SJW libtards who are way too far to the left on the issue of... being against domestic violence. I like how you think domestic violence is some political thing and there's a line in the sand drawn between Democrats and Republicans when it comes to whether people think domestic violence is good or bad.
  3. If baseball is so important to you that you get triggered because you can't cheer for your favorite spousal abuser, you have some serious problems in your life. We're all passionate about the Cubs, but baseball is a game that doesn't actually matter. It's not supposed to be the number one priority in your life. It's not supposed to take precedence over you being a decent human being. Yes, the real problem is those politically correct SJW libtards who are way too far to the left on the issue of... being against domestic violence.
  4. KB is awesome but that at bat where he K’d was the game. No question. Watch enough games and the turning points are obvious.
  5. Second straight year that our biggest FA signing of the winter gets hurt the next season. Such bad luck Doesn't bode well for Sergio Romo's 2020 season.
  6. How could we know? It's one of those "he said, she said" situations in which he's known to be a monster who made his wife miserable through years of verbal and emotional abuse, and she has no reason to lie about the abuse also being physical. Flip a coin, we just have no idea who could be telling the truth. No, there really isn't. But if you're the kind of scumbag who thinks verbal and emotional abuse can be described as "saying bad things" or being a "mean boyfriend" it would be pointless to explain further.
  7. All is the key word there. I don't think she is lying, but that doesn't mean he 100% did everything she claimed. While it still makes you a POS there is a big gap between being a mean BF and putting your hands on someone. That's why time and time again I've said I have no idea what happened, only 2 people deep down know everything that happened. Do you know he did all of what was claimed? For some reason, you're trying to direct the conversation to "is Addison Russell a wife-beater" when the relevant question is "did Addison Russell commit domestic violence for several years?" Domestic violence is not limited to physical abuse. Even if you inexplicably think Addison Russell is incapable of putting his hands on his wife, everything else is enough for every normal healthy person to want him out of the organization/league/planet. Of course, he's also a wife-beater, so horsefeathers him, horsefeathers you, and horsefeathers the fraction of a WAR you're terrified the Cubs might lose because they sent down a wife-beater.
  8. Spin the ball on a countertop. A juiced ball will have a much lower spin rate.
  9. It's dumb gatekeeping. There's no correct way or reason to be a fan of something. And baseball needs all the fans it can get, so being even slightly picky about how you get one is especially dumb.
  10. To be fair, refusing to sign an affordable 26-year-old superstar who wants to play here is only like the third or fourth grossest thing about this offseason. I mean, I can't even be annoyed about it.
  11. Spring Training or not, going back-to-back-to-back off Bauer might be my favorite

  13. If you don't want it known publically that you're a petty douchebag, don't be a petty douchebag. That you feel entitled to garbage behavior being kept secret says some scary things about you.
  14. David Wright will start one last game on the 29th, then unofficially retire. Once official, it will close out a series of transactions dating back to the 1967 draft. https://espngrantland.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/mets-matlack-to-wright.png

  16. You have to drag left to move the scroll bar right.
  17. Yeah, how long before we get to see an all-Javy defense and a lineup of 260 lb guys hitting 110 mph line drives. For years I've wanted the All-Star Game to change to select the 8 best fielders in the league on defense, and the 9 best hitters regardless of position. Now I kinda want to see it every day.
  18. Dumb GM: Signing Darvish and Chatwood. Smart GM: Trying to sign Darvish and Chatwood (and every other FA pitcher) but failing because you have a garbage franchise that is every free agent's 26th choice. Brewer fans are going to be so smug this offseason when they sign Logan Forsythe and the Cubs are forever stuck with Bryce Harper's contract.
  19. It was pretty great hearing Keith Hernandez ripping hard into Willson for the fake steal on the pitch before only to be interrupted mid-sentence by Javy sliding into home and having to admit it a smartly designed play. He didn't seem depressed though. That came three batters later when Contreras scored on the sac fly that barely left the infield and Hernandez sounded like he was about to cry.
  20. The longest 9-inning game in NL and postseason history and somehow it felt longer.
  21. I hope everyone starts taking shots at garbage players in their interviews. "If giving up two home runs to Billy Hamilton last year didn't shake our confidence, this sure as hell won't"
