  1. They're closer to last place than first place.
  2. I'm pretty sure the Reds lead the league in every measure of bullpen ineptitude. The difference between the Reds with the most 7-9th inn. runs allowed and the team with the second most is 25. (Reds - 76; Padres - 51) The difference between the second most runs allowed and the fewest in the Majors is 29. (Royals - 22)
  3. I don't think I've ever clicked on Quick links before so I don't know if the "Unread posts" thing is new or something I've missed, but it's a much appreciated improvement to Active topics.
  4. Watford 89th minute no goal http://i.imgur.com/KsTLNhk.jpg Spurs with the winner 30 seconds later.
  5. I've heard of him, but I thought his name was Freddy.

  7. But in this case, Kane is the product as one of the two faces of the franchise. I can ignore the director and appreciate a movie for what it is a lot easier than seeing Kane's grinning face on my TV and rooting for good things to happen to him. Not only will I not be able to enjoy the Hawks as fully as before, I won't be able to enjoy them at all.
  8. LMAO! soo true. i'd take the .300 with RISP that team gotta be scoring alot over a whole season! The 2008 Twins hit .305 and the 2007 Tigers hit .311 with RISP as a team and both missed the playoffs. Manager of the Year is almost guaranteed to go to a 90+ win team. I'd take that even without the other things in that option.

  10. I almost refuse to believe this is possible. Only 2 series sweeps in the last 100 years? Seriously? They've been bad, but that bad? Playing teams fewer than 12+ times a year is a relatively recent thing.
  11. No but I'd love to. I'll be honest I blacked out at the end. When I came to the Hawks were holding their sticks up at center ice.
  12. Same here. A lot of people remember Neyer from when they were introduced to Sabermetrics, but I remember him from when I was learning about baseball altogether. So it's a little extra sad to see him come off like a common message board loser who'd rather grasp at straws trying not to lose an argument than to admit he made a mistake.
  13. That's about right for me, except I first subtract two goals from our actual lead.
  14. It was the right call, but if I was a Ducks fan, this is where I'd start to buy into the "NHL loves Chicago and no one wants a TB vs Anaheim Final" conspiracy.
  15. I misread that as "Urias" and went into full WTF mode.
  16. His career OPS with runners on first and second is .432. With runners on first and third, it's 1.046. Baseball is a weird game.
  17. They have 14 wins in their last 52 games. It's the collapse that never ends.
  18. The NL had two more teams for most of that time. NL teams averaged more HRs than AL teams three times in that period. In 2001, 2007, 2008.
  19. Guest conductors have been a thing for longer than Harry's career with the Cubs. I say melt down Harry's statue and put one up of Len trying at appear interested in what some d-list actor is trying to plug.
  20. Maybe Joe Maddon could punch Brian Schlitter in the face to commemorate that era of Reds baseball.
  21. Like a game glitch in real life.
  22. That really is pretty cool, but it's hard to care that much about division titles. I care about winning the division in that it means we have a good team and HFA in the playoffs, but not at all that we get to raise a flag for it or lording it over anyone in the offseason. If my team had 11 World Series titles compared to the rest of the division's 12 combined, I'd probably care even less. What does "score the 'Cardinal Way'" mean anyway? Like scoring points on your license?
